It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Paddy Hand (Snr)

Drumgill, Kingscourt, Meath / Kingscourt, Cavan

Peacefully at his residence. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, Betty, daughters, Alice and Martina, sons Patrick and Eugene, Eugene's partner Joan, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.

May He Rest in Peace.

Removal this Saturday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, for Funeral Mass at 10am, which can be viewed live on www.kingscourtparish.ie. Burial afterwards in Nobber Cemetery, arriving at approximately 11:30am. Due to level 5 restrictions, Paddy's funeral mass will be private for family members only. The community may wish to pay their respects to the family when the cortège leaves Paddy's residence on Saturday morning on the way to the Church, and following the Funeral Mass travelling via (Drumgill and) Drumconrath to Nobber Cemetery.

Nancy Walsh (née Brady)

Knockbrett, Fethard, Tipperary / Arva, Cavan

Nancy Walsh (neé Brady), Knockbrett, Fethard, Co. Tipperary, and formerly of Cortober, Arva, Co. Cavan, March 4th, 2021. Nancy passed peacefully in the loving care of her family. Beloved wife of John and much loved mother of Tony, Larry, Fr Joe and Annette. Nancy will be sadly missed by her brothers and sister, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, cherished grandchildren Donna, Shane, Laura, Conor, Kevin, Ava, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May she rest in peace.

In light of current restrictions, Nancy will repose at her daughter Annette's residence for family only. In caring for each other, a private Requiem Mass and burial will take place in St Joseph the Worker Church, Moyglass. This may be viewed online on Saturday, March 6th, 2021, at 11.30am on Churchcamlive.ie/Moyglass

Pat Beggan

118 O Neill Park, Clones, Monaghan / Fermanagh

The death has occurred of Pat Beggan, 118 O' Neill park, Clones Co. Monaghan. Peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital on Thursday 4th March 2021. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, young sister Catherine and recently Sr. Brigid (Nuala), Salesian Sisters, Bracken Crescent, Limerick. Deeply regretted by his loving brothers and sisters; Mary, Aggie, Sr. Margo, John, Jim, Gabrielle, Christina, Sr. Gemma, Eddie, Rev. Fr. Tierney, Sr. Frances and Micheal. Dearly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

May Pat's Gentle Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

Reposing at his residence from 4pm Friday, 5th March. Funeral cortège will leave his residence on Saturday, 6th March, at 1.45pm, to arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Clones, at 2pm for requiem Mass, followed by interment in Mount St. Oliver's Cemetery, Clones, Co. Monaghan.

Frances Hughes (née Steenson)

7 Fairview Drive, Killygoan, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Wednesday, 3rd March, suddenly at Cavan General Hospital. Sadly missed by her brother and sister, her partner Alan and family.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Frances remains will be reposing at Mc Kenna's Funeral Home, Park Street, today, Thursday, from 7pm until 9pm. Her remains will arrive at St. Macartan's Cathedral Friday for 2pm Requiem Mass, interment afterwards in Latlurcan Cemetery. Frances mass can be viewed via live webcam on:

Ellen (Nellie) MCCALLION

Collins Avenue, Dublin / Scotshouse, Monaghan

MCCALLION Ellen (Nellie), (of Collins Avenue, Dublin and Scotshouse, Co. Monaghan), passed peacefully at the Mater Hospital on March 4th 2021. Beloved wife of the late Edward and mother of the late Dermot. Very sadly missed by her sons Fr. Edwin, Patrick, Raymond and Declan, daughters Philomena and Caroline, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Paddy, sister-in-law Josephine and all nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Noel McNamara

Drumhillagh, Monaghan / Glasnevin, Dublin

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Noel Mc Namara of Drumhillagh, Monaghan formerly of Glasnevin North, Dublin, after a long illness. Predeceased by his father Brian Mc Namara and daughter Shauna.

Noel will be sadly missed by his partner Loretta McPhillips, his mother Nancy, his children Pauline, Patrick, Laurna and Brian and his grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Mary, Deirdre, Claire, his brothers, Declan and Eugene, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews and nieces, the many friends, neighbours and lives he touched. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the kind and caring staff of Cavan General Hospital.

Noel’s remains will be removed to Lakelands Crematorium for cremation on Friday, 5th of March.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

The management and staff of The Anglo-Celt wish to extend their deepest sympathies to the relatives and friends of the deceased. May they rest in peace.
