It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Maureen McMahon (née Walsh)

Main Street, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Maureen McMahon née Walsh, Main Street, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully, Thursday 11th March 2021 surrounded by her loving family in the care of the staff in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, Grandson Aidan, Sister Imelda, Brothers Michael, Liam and Tony. Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by her devoted family, Daughter Caroline, Sons Paul, Mark (Ohio), Kevin (Ohio), Pete, Gareth and Stephen, Daughters in law, Son in law, Grandchildren, Brothers Ben and John, dearest sisters-in-law Helen and Nancy, brother-in-law Benny, relatives, extended family and friends.

Maureen will repose privately at her home among her family.

There will be an opportunity for neighbours and friends to pay their respects by lining the route in a safe and socially distanced manner, from her home as Maureen’s funeral cortège travels to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for requiem mass on Saturday morning (13th March) at 12noon with burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, where Maureen will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Peter.

Following the HSE and Government Guidelines for Level 5, there will be no public wake as Maureen’s funeral and burial will be celebrated privately by her family (limited to 10).

Please note that McMahons Centra will be closed until Saturday afternoon at 2pm.

McMahons Super-valu will remain open.
