Last month tools were stolen from a number of vans in the Ballinagh area. Gardaí investigating the incident issued an alert for a white Volkswagan Passat estate car, the occupants of which are suspected of been involved in the break-ins.

PSNI issue warning over fires

Following several reports of fires started in the forests surrounding Lisnaskea, the PSNI has issued a warning to remind people of the danger this can cause.

“The reckless actions of those lighting the fires are placing people and animals at risk,” said a spokesperson in a post on social media.

“Please do not dispose of rubbish, particularly cigarette butts in areas of woodland as, apart from being unsightly and a risk to wildlife, they can also be the cause of some of these fire.”

Alerts for suspect vehicles

A number of community alerts have been issued in the past week in relation to vehicles carrying occupants seen acting suspiciously in the local area.

Gardaí in Monaghan appealed to the public for information on a black-coloured Lexus being driven on the Carrickmacross to Dundalk road, and also a black-coloured VW Jetta reported driving along the Newtownbutler Road.

Previously gardaí issued alerts for a VW Passat, partial reg 04 G, seen being driven in the Killanny area earlier this month, April 8, as well as a white transit van and a Northern reg VW Caddy van acting suspiciously in the Scotshouse area.
