Teach Oscail launches butterfly initiative for Families Day

Anyone who would like to contribute and design a butterfly is welcome to contact Teach Oscail.

Symbolising the journey families go through when they enter Teach Oscail, the local resource centre has launched their new butterfly initiative to coincide with celebrating International Families Day 2021.

Butterflies represent change, growth and new beginnings, say Teach Oscail, which is located at Church Street and operates a community-based model of family support.

“There are no set colours – there are no set shapes. Each family is unique in their own special way,” say Teach Oscail.

Butterflies, designed by our staff and service users can be found throughout the building – decorating our walls and stairwells.

“Some problems may be big some problems may be small. But the doors of Teach Oscail are always open to welcome and support to offer advice and guidance. Just like each butterfly on our wall the first step may seem bleak – it may seem colourless. It may seem like there is no hope. But the process of change is beautiful and each end result is just as worthwhile as the next.”

Meanwhile, anyone who would like to contribute and design a butterfly is welcome to contact Teach Oscail.
