Chloe Wilson and Shauna Kierans set up a Facebook page KFCS Cancer Silage Trailer to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

It’s a wrap - silage fundraiser makes €2,300 of hay

Silage season is a busy time, but not so busy that you can’t help out those worse off. Earlier this month, a group of neighbours in got together to fundraiser for a very worthy cause.

Members of the Kierans, Fay, O’Connell, and Stewart families all chipped in to doll up a silage trailer in a bid to get people on board to support the Irish Cancer Society.

Chloe Wilson and Shauna Kierans set up a Facebook page ‘KFCS Cancer Silage Trailer’ with the aim of raising €1,000 for the Irish Cancer Society, but the group hit €2,300 by June 14.

Shauna explained the idea behind the fundraiser: “This year it was decided that the four families would do something good for charity considering that way this pandemic has made everything so crazy.”

She said the beneficiaries of the collection are worthy: “Cancer affects every family at some stage so if you would like to donate to this wonderful cause (Irish Cancer Society), please do. No donation is too small.”

Shauna thanked Damien Moran from Moran Signs - Graphics & Vehicle Accessories for making the trailer stand out.
