A continental flavour!

The Proprietor of the Castle Sports Bar on the Diamond, Ray Slaughter, is delighted with the response from both local people and visitors since they opened their outdoor area earlier this month.

“There has been a wonderful atmosphere in the town since we opened on Monday of last week and Cavan County Council have been fantastic and very helpful, together with our local county councillor, Brendan Fay.

“The council have essentially said to us ‘how can we help you to get your business up and running?’ –They put in a whole new concrete area outside our premises and customers are gob smacked by the transformation and the decor we have put in place,” said Ray.

The outdoor dining is working well and they have been luck with the weather so far.

“Customers are going as far as to say, it is bringing a continental feel to Belturbet. When you come around the corner on the Diamond, the town looks alive and buzzing.

“We are getting a lot of tourists stopping in the town and enjoying our food offering. They are loving the outdoor dining experience. I will certainly be keeping the outdoor dining experience going, to compliment our indoor offering from July 5th,” continued Ray.

“My business has benefited from customers being outside enjoying their food and drinks – the response has been phenomenal. The staff are also enjoying the ‘feel good’ vibe of being back at work and the positivity of all the customers.”
