The tennis courts under development in Ballyjamesduff are among the projects and sites in Cavan being visited by Minister for Rural Development Heather Humphreys.

Many rural development projects officially launched

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, is on a whistle-stop tour of County Cavan today (Monday), July 5, to officially open a series of rural development projects in the county.

Her visit began at 9:30am this morning in the east of the county at Dún a Rí Forest Park in Kingscourt for the opening of a recreational trail at the facility.

From there, she travelled to Virginia to the Ramor Theatre where a new Virginia Civic Centre is being developed. Minister Humphreys then visited the Virginia lakeshore amenity, which has been upgraded recently.

She arrived in Ballyjamesduff around 11:30am for the official opening of Ballyjamesduff Courthouse and also to review progress on a new tennis court project.

Then it was on to Ballinagh to officially open the Ballinagh River Amenity.

Minister Humphreys is due in Cavan Town this afternoon where she will visit the Cavan Town Hall, and later officially open new greenways at Loreto Road and finally the new Killykeen Way.
