Milltown National School approved for expansion

Milltown National School, Milltown, Belturbet, Cavan has received Department of Education approval to progress with new accommodation for the students. The approval will allow for the building of a mainstream classroom and two Special Education Teaching (SET) rooms.

Principal Keith Conefrey say the school aims to promote equality and support pupils with special educational needs.

Speaking on the announcement Deputy Brendan Smith said: “I welcome the approval by my colleague Norma Foley - TD, Minister for Education of additional classroom accommodation at Milltown National School. The new accommodation to be approved includes a mainstream classroom and 2 S.E.T. Rooms.”

Deputy Smith commended everyone at the school in their efforts to secure the approval: “I compliment the Principal, Keith Conefrey, and the school community on submitting this successful application and I wish them every success with the project.”

The approval allows for an 80m2 mainstream classroom with en-suite and two 15m2 SET Rooms.
