It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Alice Candon (née McIntyre)

Terenure, Dublin / Crumlin Village, Dublin / Bailieborough, Cavan

Alice passed away suddenly, but peacefully, in her ninety third year, at Tallaght University Hospital, Dublin. Late of Skeagh, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, Innismore House, Crumlin Village, Dublin and Wainsfort Grove, Terenure, Dublin. Beloved daughter of the late Alice and Francis. Predeceased by her husband Ciarán. Alice will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Sadly also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, John and Mary (Skeagh), Elizabeth (Betty) Kennedy, (Santry, Dublin), Peter Francis (Pete) (Rathfarnham, Dublin) and Catherine (Catha) (Clontarf, Dublin) who passed away on 20th June.

Alice’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Rosario and all the staff at Sally Park Nursing Home, Templeogue, Dublin which became Alice’s loving home for the past number of years.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

A private family funeral will take place following current government guidelines.

Glangevlin, Cavan / Fenagh, Leitrim

Joseph (Joe) Hargaden, The Old Barracks, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan and formerly of Cornagon, Fenagh, Co. Leitrim. Peacefully, after a short illness, in Beaumont Hospital. Loving husband to Angela and father to daughters Honor (John), Inez (Raglan) and son Emmett (Kat) and grandson Elliott. Deeply missed by his brothers Val, Johnny, Greg and Alan (London) and sisters Patricia (Galway), Joan (Sligo), Carmel (Roscommon), Teresa (Longford), Elizabeth (Leitrim), Jeanette (Westmeath) and extended family and friends.

The death has occurred of Desie (Des) McGovern (48) Musselburgh, Edinburgh & formerly The Garage, Mully Lower, Glangevlin, Co. Cavan. Unexpectedly, on Saturday, 26th June. Much loved husband of Cathy & father of Regan. Beloved son of Joe & Annie & brother to Vincent, Irene, Pat, Angela (pre-deceased) & Carmel. Deeply missed by his sister in law, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, neighbours, work colleagues & wide circle of friends.

John O'Rourke

Murmod, Virginia, Cavan / Aughavas, Leitrim

The death has occurred of John O’Rourke, Murmod, Virginia, Co. Cavan and formerly of Aughavas, Co. Leitrim, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Deeply regretted by his wife, Madge, sons & daughter, grandchildren, sister, relatives and friends.

May His Soul Rest In Peace.

Removal from his residence this Monday, July 19th, at 10.40am for arrival at Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Bartholomew's Cemetery, Munterconnaught. In compliance with Current Covid 19 guidelines, the family home will remain strictly private. John’s funeral mass will be restricted under current COVID guidelines. People are invited to form a guard of honour along the route of the funeral cortege from his residence to the chapel as a mark of respect.

Mariea Kelly (née Dynes)

Castleblayney, Monaghan / Armagh

The death has occurred of Mariea Kelly née Dynes, 15 Park Road, Drumillard, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Armagh, Thursday, 15th July 2021. Peacefully at home in the care of her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bosco and much loved son Patrick.

Mariea will repose privately among her family. Loved and sadly missed by her children Eddie, Noleen, Sharon and Pauline, sons-in law, Robbie and Darragh, daughters-in-law, Catherine and Ciara, 16 adored grandchildren, sisters, Eileen, Teresa, Rosetta, brothers Tommy and Noel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

In keeping with Government advice and HSE guidelines regarding public gatherings a family funeral will take place for Mariea. The funeral cortège will leave from the family home in Park Road on Saturday morning (July 17th) at 11am approx. - arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for requiem mass at 11:30 am with burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery.

Michael McEntee

Lisnashannagh, Stranooden, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Michael McEntee, Lisnashannagh, Stranooden, Co. Monaghan, Thursday 15th July, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents, Peter and Rose. Devoted husband to Kathleen and father to Barrie, Siobhan, Paul & Grainne. Lovingly remembered by his sons, daughters in law and his grandchildren Seán, Conal, Lucy, Lauren, Ava, Sive, Josh, Luke & Noah. His brothers Peader & Francis, sisters Mary & Kathleen, brothers in law, sisters in law, extended family and friends.

Maureen Treanor (née Mullen)

Castleshane, Monaghan

Maureen Treanor (nee Mullen) Cavancreevy, Castleshane, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully at home on Thursday the 15th of July surrounded by her family. Lovely missed by her husband Owenie, daughters Noelene, Emma, son Stephen, brother Tom Joe. daughter-in-law Katheryn, grandchildren Dylan, Aaron and Conan, neighbours and friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Maureen's Funeral cortage will leave her family home on Saturday, the 17th of July, at 10am for funeral mass in St Patrick's Church, Tyholland at 11am. Due to COVID 19 government restrictions the mass and burial will be restricted to family and friends, 50 people only. For those who wish to pay their respects please adhere to MSE guidelines and maintain 2 meter social distance
