Garda hunt hit and run driver

Gardaí have issued a statement asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Gardai in neighbouring Meath are appealing for anyone who may have information or dashcam footage of a driver and car that smashed into another last month in an early morning hit and run.

The incident took place at the intersection of the Kells Road and the Nobber/Navan road just before 1am on Wednesday, July 21.

The hit and run suspect is believed have been driving a yellow registration carrying dark coloured Volkswagen Golf or Polo type vehicle.

The car collided with another at the Kilberry crossroads before speeding off in the direction of nearby Slane.

Gardaí have since issued a statement asking for anyone with information to come forward.

The full statement read: "Navan Gardai are investigating a hit and run incident that occurred at Kilberry Cross at approximately 0:50am on 21 July 2021.

In a statement, gardaí confirmed that the suspect car had been travelling from the Kells direction on the R163 from where it crossed the R162 Nobber/Navan Road.

“The suspect car collided into another car at the Kilberry crossroads.

“The suspect car continued travelling on the R163 towards Slane.

“It is believed the suspect car is a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf/Polo. It has a yellow registration plate to the rear and did sustain damage.

“Gardai are looking to speak with anyone travelling along these roads and noticed any cars with damage. If you have dash camera footage or can help in any way please contact the gardai on 0469021445.”
