Rose Cassidy (née McGovern)

Monragh, Blacklion, Cavan

Rose Cassidy (nee McGovern) Monragh, Blacklion, Co. Cavan, peacefully at her home.

Predeceased by her late husband John and siblings Patrick (Glangevlin), Margaret (Mullingar) and Elizabeth (Illinois, USA).

Sadly missed by her son Francis, daughter-in-law Anne Marie, grandchildren Ciara and Sean, sister-in-law Susan, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace

Reposing at her home for relatives, neighbours and close friends on Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm and Saturday from 4pm to 6pm. House strictly private at all other times.

Removal Saturday to St. Patrick’s Church, Killinagh, Blacklion arriving at 8pm. Rose’s Funeral cortege will travel via old Cornagee Road. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1.30pm with burial afterwards in Killinagh Cemetery.

Due to Covid 19 and HSE Guidelines the funeral will be limited to 50 persons while also requesting strict adherence to social distancing in the vicinity of the Church and cemetery.

Kathleen Clarke (née Campbell)

Corvally, Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Cavan

The death has occurred of Kathleen Clarke (née Campbell). Corvally, Carrickmacross 6th August 2021. In her 93rd year. Peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family in the excellent care of the staff of Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross. Predeceased by her husband John, her infant grandson Patrick (Cooney), her parents John & Esther, her sister Phyllis & brother James. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sons Sean (Cork) & Francis, daughters Brid (Marron, Shercock), Margaret (Carolan, Baileborough), Carmel (Cooney, Knockbridge), Anne (Lonergan) & Pauline (O'Hanlon), her daughters-in-law Mary & Patricia, sons-in-law Hugh, Tony, Terry, Ken & PJ, her adored grandchildren Paul, Barry, Lorraine, David, Sarah, Rebecca, Alison, Laura, Louise, Laura, Niamh, Claire, Ronan, Caoimhe, Fergal, Sinéad, Oisín, Dylan, Andrea & Evan, her eight great-grandchildren, her sister Sr. Margaret (Convent of Mercy, Dundalk), her brothers Paddy (Dublin) & John (Dublin), sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives friends & neighbours.

Kathleen will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Main Street, Carrickmacross, among family & friends, on Sunday, 8th August, from 4pm until 8pm.

In accordance with current guidelines Kathleen's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of her family & close friends (limited to 50) on Monday, 9th August, at 12noon in St. John The Evangelist Church, Raferagh, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. There will be an opportunity for the community to pay their respects by lining the route, in a socially distanced manner, as Kathleen's funeral cortège leaves her home, Corvally, on Monday at 11:40am proceeding to St. John The Evangelist Church.

As a mark of respect to Kathleen, Toymaster, Cavan, will remain closed from 11am until 2pm on Monday, 9th August.

Jimmy Roche

Gubaveeney, Blacklion, Cavan

Jimmy Roche, Gubaveeney, Blacklion, Co. Cavan, peacefully, at Arus Breffni Nursing Home, Manorhamilton. Sadly missed by his sister Margaret McHugh, nephews Brian McHugh, (Geraldine) Sligo, Paddy McHugh (Brigid) Barran, grandnephew, grandniece, great-grandnephews and great-grandniece, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral to arrive at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Doobally, Dowra, Co. Cavan, this Sunday for 4pm Funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private, please.

Ellen Margaret Watson

Arvagh, Cavan

On Monday, July 26th Ellen Margaret Watson, loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of six, passed away at the age of 74. Margaret (McKenna) was born in Arvagh, Co. Cavan, Ireland to Eugene and Anna McKenna. Margaret moved to New York, New York after school and worked for Eastern airlines. In June of 1971, she married David Watson in her hometown in Ireland. They moved to Pearland, Texas where their three children were born. They raised their three children in the UK and the US.

Margaret had a passion for helping people, needlework, gardening, and the church. She combined these loves to assist in the communities and parishes she belonged to as her family moved around the UK and the US. She was a Director of religious education, a teacher, delivered meals on wheels, assisted in feeding those in need, and was a fixture on the parish art and flower committees. Margaret was a loving wife of 50 years, a wonderful mother, and an engaged grandmother known to her grandchildren as Gamma.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father Eugene, mother Anna, sisters Frances, Nuala, Máire, brother Eugene (Eoin), and nephew John. She is survived by her husband David Watson, three children, Stephen Watson (wife Natasha), Kieran Watson and Tara Reichenbach (husband Brian), six grandchildren, Sophie Watson, Kiera Watson, Luke Watson, Claire Watson, John Reichenbach, and Simon Reichenbach, her sister Gorrettie Clarke, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews all of whom she loved deeply.

The funeral service will be held on August 9th, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 725 Magdala Pl, Apex, NC 27502 (USA) at 11:00 am (EST), 4pm (GMT+1).

Joe Matthews

'Rockhaven', Carrickasedge, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Joe Matthews. 'Rockhaven', Carrickasedge, Carrickmacross. 6th August 2021. Suddenly at his home. Predeceased by his wife Daphne and his parents Michael & Catherine. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his sons Michael & Andrew, daughter-in-law Fiona, his adored grandson Tom, brothers Noel, Tommy (Ashbourne) & Eugene, sisters Maureen (Gainford), Kathleen (McKevitt) & Patricia (Duffy), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives & friends.
