Teagasc Ballyhaise host family fun day

The Cavan Monaghan Science Festival have organised an engaging and timely event combines education with fun. The family fun day at Teagasc, Ballyhaise, Cavan takes place this Saturday, November 6, from 11am to 2pm as part of the Cavan Monaghan Science Festival.

Throughout the day Thomas Townsend from Met Éireann will discuss the Ballyhaise Weather Station and its relevance in forecasting the national and local weather. Biologist Éanna Ní Lamhna will provide a number of talks on nature along the trails at Teagasc, Ballyhaise. Inland Fisheries Ireland will discuss fisheries and their role in the area and the Environment Section from Cavan County Council will look at freshwater samples and discuss the bug life therein.

Booking is essential for the Met Éireann Weather Station event with Thomas Townsend and the nature walk and talk with Éanna Ní Lamhna. Both events will take place over three time slots at 11am, 11.45am and 12.30pm and both must be booked separately. The events can be booked on the Cavan Monaghan Science Festival website.

Booking is not required for the Inland Fisheries or Environmental Section events.
