Performance was funded under the Local Live Performance Scheme

Singer-songwriter Larry Beau recently played Cavan's Townhall Theatre on Saturday, October 23.

The concert also saw the screening of 'Song Lake'- the culmination of a journey taken by the moustachioed troubadour Beau and a band of musical friends- Alan D'Arcy, Darragh Slacke, Cormac McCann, Liam McCabe- to St Mogue's Island near Bawnboy last year.

“All you could hear in the little spot we found to play was bird song. That and the notion of what was,” Beau told the Celt of the trip, which was captured on film by Padraig Conaty and Ray Fitzsimons, edited Antimo Púca Kelly, and first shared with the Milwaukee Irish Music Festival.

The screening was followed by a live musical concert with Beau joined by the 'Breffni Backstreet Choir'- Alan D'Arcy, Cormac McCann, Liam McCabe, Clara Rose Monahan, Peter Denton, and Rafal Szydlowski.

The musical performance filmed on St Mogue's Island Cavan, directed by Larry Beau, was funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Local Live Performance Scheme.
