It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

George Courtney

Killycasson, Loughduff, Cavan

George Courtney, Killycasson, Loughduff Co. Cavan. Died peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family on Wednesday 17th November 2021. Predeceased by his sister Bridie and brothers Seamus and Joe. Sadly missed by his loving wife Catherine, his three daughters Gail, Tracey and Georgina, brothers Charlie and Denis, sisters Kathleen, Lily and Vera, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday in St. Joseph's Church, Loughduff at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

House private please.

Walter Van der Merwe

Lisdonan, Bailieborough, Cavan / Roscommon Town, Roscommon and Native of South Africa.

Suddenly, at his residence. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Petronella and his cherished daughter Lizette. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his beloved partner Mary (Hennigan), (Roscommon Town), his siblings, Jerry, David, Nataniel and Dorothea Shultz, step daughters, Frances and Noilin, sisters and brother in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, his exceptional neighbours and friends.

Walter now resting with the Lord.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan, this Saturday, November 20th, from 4pm, with celebration of life service, commencing at 5pm, followed by cremation.

Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings and refrain from handshaking at Walter's service, in the interest of public health and safety at this time.
