Twelve road projects near completion

There are 12 road reconstruction projects being undertaken or completed in the Cavan Belturbet Municipal District area.

The busy November work programme was outlined to elected members at the November meeting of the authority.

Senior executive engineer for the district, Paul Mulligan, updated them in a comprehensive engineer's report.

Completed works at Altinure, Ballyheady, Carrigallen Rd, Fartrin, Commas Rd, Back Lane, Old Butlersbridge Rd and Minlough Rd and projects almost completed at Drumelis, Marble Arch Rd, and Sruhagh Rd were detailed to the local authority members.

Progress on the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS) at Altachullion, Derryarmush, Corislee and Roo were also highlighted; while N87 surfacing at Bawnboy village and N87 edge repair at Derrynacreeve were also discussed.

Footpath works in Butlersbridge and Cherrymount, Cavan and climate adaptation works at Deridis Lower were also outlined by Mr Mulligan. Members also heard details of a public lighting extension project at Bothar Bui, Ballyconnell.

The Cavan Belturbet MD members also heard of the restoration and improvement scheme at Moynehall, CIS Ardonan, Milltown; Road Safety Schemes at Belturbet and Kilnavara Active Transport Schemes at Butlersbridge; footpath repairs at Farnham Rd, Cavan; N87 drainage remedial work and the completion of fencing at Chapel Lane, Ballyconnell.
