It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Larry Gillick

The death has occurred of Larry Gillick, Drumooslin, Bailieborough, Cavan (November 26, 2021) peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Rose, his sons and daughters Bernie (Simon), Paul, Laurence Junior (Lydia), John (Karen), Kathleen, Sharon (Paudie), Cathal (Michelle), Brendan (Nicola), brothers, sister, grandchildren, sons in law, daughters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Clarke's funeral home, Bailieborough, on Monday (November 29) from 5pm to 8pm. Removal from his residence on Tuesday morning at 10.30am, via Cavan Road, Lower Main Street and Anne Street, to arrive at St Anne's Church, Bailieborough, for funeral Mass at 11am.

Evelyn King (née O'Reilly)

The death has occurred of Evelyn King (née O'Reilly) Drumalee, Cavan Town, Cavan

Evelyn King (nee O’Reilly) Drumalee, Cavan. Beloved wife of the late Patrick King BDS nui, and loving mother of the late Mary, Friday November 26, 2021, peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the staff at Castlemanor Nursing Home, Cavan.

Evelyn will be very sadly missed by her devoted family, John, Paraic, Audrey, Teresa and Dara, her daughters-in-law Andrea and Ruth, son-in-law Malcom, adored grandchildren, Sam, Emma, Neil, Jane, Sarah, Daniel, Johnny, Macdara, Sadhbh and Doirean, her brothers, Sean, Patrick and Sylvester, sisters Nan and Teresa, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, all her relatives and many friends. May she rest in peace

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, (H12 C821) Farnham Road, Cavan, on Saturday evening from 7pm until 9pm. HSE and Government Covid regulations will apply with walk through, face masks to be worn and no handshakes.

Removal from her home in Drumalee on Sunday at 12.40pm, arriving at the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan, for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Following Mass, the cortege will travel through Main St. and on to St. Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry, for committal prayers and burial in the family plot. Michael Lyons

The death has occurred of Michael Lyons, Kilnavara Heights, Cavan, late of Drumlark, Cavan, peacefully after a long illness bravely borne in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of the I.C.U., Cavan General Hospital. Pre-deceased by his father, Frank, mother, Mary and brother, Liam. Beloved husband of Monica and dear father of Mark, Declan and Dominic. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters-in-law, Josephine, Fiona and Cassie, his adored grandchildren Cain, Pauric, Callum, Connor, Lorcan and Aiveen, brothers Paddy, Frank, Thomas and Paschal, sisters Kathleen and Geraldine, dear aunt Joan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many, many friends.

Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Monday 29th from 5pm to 7.30pm with Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11.30am in the Cathedral of Ss. Patrick & Phelim with interment in St. Brigid's cemetery, Killygarry. House strictly private please

The death has occurred ofJohn McDowell, 21 Tullacmongan, Cavan. Friday, November 26 2021, peacefully at home in the loving care of his devoted and loving family. Beloved husband and soulmate of the late Maureen. John will be very sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all his relatives and many, many friends. May John rest in peace

The death has occurred of Airmid O'Hanlon (née McMullin) ''Glenair'' Cathedral Road, Cavan Town, Cavan / Shankill, Dublin and Glengara Park, Nursing Home, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. November 26, 2021, peacefully, in the loving care of her children and the staff at Glengara Park Nursing Home, Dún Laoghaire. Beloved wife of the late Edward T. (Ned) O’Hanlon. Predeceased by her son Simon, and survived by Johnny, Morna, Kate, Ned and Peter. Airmid will be very sadly missed by her loving Family, daughters-in-law Gabrielle, Anne-Louise and Philomena, her adored grandchildren Grainne, Dearbháile, Eimear, Edward, Frances, Peter, Patrick, Robert, Shane, Anna, Peter, Morna, her nine great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, all her relatives and many friends. Rosaleen Sheridan

The death has occurred of Rosaleen Sheridan, Tower Hamlet, Cavan Town and late of Pullakeel, Carrickaboy, Co Cavan, Thursday, Nov 25th, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Surgical 2 Ward, Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her family. Beloved daughter of the late Benny and Anna May Sheridan. Sadly missed by her partner Malachy, brothers and sisters, John, Brian, Philip, Dympna, Collette, Martin, Stephen and Marian, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the home of her brother John and sister-in-law Teresa, Pullakeel, Carrickaboy, today, Friday, from 5.00pm until 7.00pm and on Saturday from 3.00pm until 5.00pm, for family and close friends. Removal from John and Teresa’s home on Saturday evening at 5.30pm to St Matthew's Church, Drumavaddy, to arrive at 6.00pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 1.00pm with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Those attending the funeral are asked, if possible, to wear a pink tie or scarf in memory of Rosaleen. No flowers please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Cancer Research through donations box provided or to Declan Finnegan funeral director or any family member.
