It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Thomas (Tom) Hughes

Summerbank, Oldcastle, Co. Meath and late of Polleragh, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan (former caretaker of St Oliver’s Post Primary School, Oldcastle).

Tuesday, November 30th, suddenly, in the loving care of his family and the matron and staff of Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

Predeceased by his father Patrick, mother Catherine, brother Pat and sisters Eileen, Annie, Kathleen, Rita, Alice, Bridgie and Betty. Deeply regretted by his loving wife of 54 years, M. B.; son Patrick, daughters Eileen and Olivia, grandchildren Peter, Orla, Eimear and Aoife, brother Jim, sister Teresa, son-in-law Oliver, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Drumcroman, Ballinamore, Leitrim, N41 E2T8 / Ballyhaise, Cavan

Surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Josephine, brothers Joe and Frank, sister Anne and his beloved son Séan.

Pat will be sadly missed by the mother of his children Tina McLoughlin, daughters Catherine (Paul), Clare (Pete) and son Michael (Nathalia), his brothers John P, Tom and Anthony, sisters Mae, Kathleen, Helena and Maria, his beloved grandchildren Finn, Frank, Maya, Lorcan, Aoife and Patrick, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home on Wednesday and Thursday from 4.00pm to 8.00 pm.

A one way system will operate from Kiltyhugh via Corraleehan Rd.

Removal on Friday 3rd December to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore for Funeral Mass at 12.00 noon.

Burial afterwards in Oughteragh cemetery.

Margaret (Peg) Murray [née Murtagh]

Shancoduff, Inniskeen.

Peacefully at home.

Sadly, missed and remembered with love by daughters Noreen, Angela and Margaret, sons Peter and Aidan, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law Yvonne and Shelly and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deeply regretted by brother Jim, sister Briege and husband Frank, sisters-in-law Kathy and Betty, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband James, sons Gerard, Kenneth and James and brother Joe, Gene, Denis and Sean.

Reposing at her late residence until removal, Thursday morning, at 10.30 am to the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen, arriving for 11 am funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in St Marys Cemetery, Inniskeen. Funeral Mass can be viewed on:

Oliver Pepper

Boyle O'Reilly Terrace, Dundalk, Louth / Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Peacefully, in the dedicated care of the staff of St. Francis' Hospice, Blanchardstown, surrounded by his loving family and partner. Beloved son of the late John and Brigid, much loved partner of Claire Garland and dear brother of Ann, Marie, Catherine Briege and the late Gerry, Anthony and Paddy. He will be sadly missed by his loving partner, sisters, Brothers-in-law Eamon and Malachy, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and many friends in Monaghan and Dundalk.

Reposing at his residence, 52 Beechgrove Lawns, Monaghan (H18 EH59) from 6pm-9pm on Tuesday and in Quinn's Funeral Home, Dundalk from 2pm-8pm on Wednesday for family and close friends. Removal on Thursday at 10.40am to St. Nicholas' Church, Dundalk, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
