Tyrecare expands the business

Director of Tyrecare Ltd Barry Carson is delighted to report “a busy year” across all aspects of the industry.

The family run business was started by Joe Carson almost 40 years ago selling tyre equipment and repair materials.

“Since then, we’ve grown to more of an all-round garage and automotive equipment provider,” explained Barry.

In recent years, the business has specialised in compressed air systems and hydraulic lifting equipment for garages, factories, and engineering workshops, among others.

“We’re probably doing less in just the tyre trade now than we are in sales of air compressors, garage jacks and lifts,” he added.

The business also provides a range of equipment for all vehicle needs including hand tools, hobby compressors, tyre inflators, tyre repair kits, batteries, wiper blades and bulbs from their showroom located just outside Killeshandra town.

Tyrecare currently has two sales vans and two service vans travelling country-wide, with plans for expansion.

Interested in giving opportunities, Tyrecare provides apprenticeships in Construction Plant Fitting and also the newly launched Sales Apprenticeship.

Having completed a four-year apprenticeship himself when he left school, Barry highly recommends this route to a career.

“I just thought the hands-on approach, learning while you’re doing, is very beneficial.

“You gain valuable experience all the way through and have a qualification at the end to show for it,” explained Barry.

The business is recruiting a new sales representative. “We’re looking to grow our sales team and add another van and sales rep to the road,” Barry highlighted.
