It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Michael (Mickey) Armstrong

Packie Willies, Clones, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Michael Armstrong, (Packie Willies), Clones, Co. Monaghan. Mickey passed away at Cavan General Hospital, Wednesday, 8th December. Predeceased by his father Michael and his brother-in-law Michael Kelly. Mickey will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his adored mother Cissie and stepfather Packie, his son Noah and Lina, his sisters Marie (Gene) and Deirdre, his brothers Gerard (Geraldine) and Niall (Joan), nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours, his many friends and by all who knew and loved him.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Mickey will be resting at the family home from 8pm this Thursday evening, until removal on Saturday morning, 11th December, at 10.00am for Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel, Clones, at 11am, followed by burial in the Sacred Hearts Cemetery, Clones. Mickey’s funeral cortège to the chapel will travel via Mullnamoy Lane, Cavan Rd, (walking from The Diamond approx 10.40am) and Fermanagh St., for those who would like to pay their respects.

Alice McKenna (née Conlon)

Barritatoppy Lower, Scotstown, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Alice McKenna, Barritatoppy Lower, Scotstown, Co. Monaghan, H18 PC80. Wednesday, 8th December, peacefully at St.Vincent's Private Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her parents, Bridget & Matt.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Alice will be lovingly remembered by her husband Owen, daughters Pauline (Conor), Siobhan & Grainne (Cathal), sons Rory (Michelle), Cathal (Tricia) & Joseph and 11 grandchildren. Sadly missed by her sisters Pauline & Briege, brother Matt, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Alice's remains will repose at her residence on Thursday from 6pm - 9pm and on Friday from 3pm to 9pm (please adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times). Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 1pm at St.Josephs Church, Knockatallon (streamed live on Tydavnet Parish RC Churches Facebook page), burial afterwards in St.Mary's Cemetery, Urbleshanney.

Mourners are welcome to pay their respects as Alice's funeral cortege travels to the church on Saturday, please be mindful of HSE Guidelines at all times.
