Apartment in Dublin to be won in Shamrocks fundraiser

GAA news

Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA are giving one person the chance to win a stunning apartment in Dublin City Centre for just €100 per ticket as they officially launch their fundraiser today.

With a maximum of 10,000 tickets available for the draw, all profits raised through this fundraising campaign will go directly towards the development of a fully floodlit main pitch, a new floodlit pedestrian track , a new car park, the completion of the club house which will become a state of the art facility, and other vital new facilities in the east Cavan town club that will be focused on and for the use of the local and surrounding communities.

The first prize on offer is an apartment in Jervis Place, Dublin 1. The apartment is based in one of Dublin’s most sought after city centre locations, with access to local amenities, transport links and services such as the Jervis Street LUAS stop, and also shopping districts, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, and third level education institutes all within short walking distances.

This fundraiser will run between now until Spring next year with the winner being announced on St. Patrick’s Day 2022 at an official event in The Bailie Hotel, Main Street, Bailieborough. The draw will be streamed live on Facebook, with other prizes also up for grabs.

Speaking to the Anglo-Celt, Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA Chairman Gavin Mackey said; “Today is an exciting day for all involved with Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA and the wider community as we launch our fundraiser where someone could win an outstanding apartment in Dublin City Centre.

“The apartment on offer is of the highest quality with a complete refurbishment which people can see by visiting the official website and our social media pages. I am very proud to be able to launch this on behalf of everyone at the club. I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this exciting fundraiser possible. The opportunity to live without the worry of rent or a mortgage is idealistic for many individuals, however we are going to make that a reality for someone, and we firmly believe this fundraiser will be of great interest to Bailieborough Shamrocks supporters and a much wider audience.”

“The spirit in the GAA community across the country is second to none, and we saw this in our own club last year when we ran a 24 hour kickathon charity fundraiser for Bailieborough Cancer Fund, raising over €23,000. We now see an opportunity to raise much needed funds that will create a state of the art facility, not just for our underage and senior teams, but for the community as a whole. The development of a new floodlit walking track will be important for people’s physical and mental health, allowing them to exercise in a safe environment. The completion of our club rooms, especially upstairs, will include a meeting room, toilets, pitch viewing area and a bar.”

Bailieborough Shamrocks Fundraising Committee Chairman, John Woods stated;

“The upgrading of our club grounds and facilities is an essential development to ensure that our underage and senior teams continue to thrive, but more importantly we will be developing a facility that can be used by the local and wider communities. I really hope that Bailieborough people, GAA people, Cavan people and indeed people nationally and all over the world will support this fundraiser.”

“I am delighted that we are in a position to hold such a fundraiser. The club here in Bailieborough is part of the fabric of everyday life for so many people, and they deserve the best facilities possible. We are excited as a club and committee to launch our ambitious online campaign which will run over the next nine months.

“For just €100 one person is guaranteed to win a property in Dublin City Centre, something that unfortunately in this day and age is very difficult for many to realise.

“With a maximum number of tickets to be issued I would urge everyone to enter the draw early to avoid any disappointment”, Woods concluded.
