It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Frank Magee

Portnaquin, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan.

Sunday, 2nd January 2022, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, following a short illness, surrounded by his heartbroken family. Beloved husband of Eileen and loving and devoted father of Gerry, Frank, Kieran, Sean and Patricia. He will be sadly missed by his sister Kathleen Geraghty and his brother Seamus, his adored grandchildren Louise, Sarah, Neil, Mark, Matthew, Ben, Adrian, Paul, Peter, and Aaron, his daughter in laws, Mary, Somporn and Aileen, his son-in-law William, his brother-in-law Vincent O Reilly, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Reposing at McMahon's Funeral Home, Cavan, on Tuesday, the 4th January, from 5-7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 5th January, at 11am at St. Brigid's Church, Killeshandra, with interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

House is strictly private, please.

Please observe all current government guidelines regarding the wearing of face masks, no hand shaking and social distancing.

Family flowers only and donations in lieu, if desired, to St. Vincent de Paul, care of Joe Hayes, Funeral Director or any family member.

Edward (Eddie) Magee

Dyan, Caledon, Co Tyrone.

1st January 2022, peacefully.

Beloved son of the late Donald and Rose Alice, husband of Eileen and loving father to Aidan, Sharon, Sinead, Alana, Colin, Ronan and brother of the late Christina (RIP) 23 Kedew Road BT68 4YA.

Eddie's remains will repose at his late home until removal on Monday at 10.15am for 11.00am requiem mass in the the church of St Joseph, Caledon burial afterwards in St Patrick's cemetery Eglish. Sacred heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, sons, daughters, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, brothers Donald and Vincent, sister Elsie, Patricia and Philomena, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces and entire family circle. Due to the current situation the wake, funeral and burial will be a gathering of family and friends.

Phyllis Smith (née Tease)

Main Street, Belturbet, Co. Cavan.

Sunday January 2nd 2022. Peacefully at home. Wife of the late Harry. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her sons Al and Des, daughter-in-law Vera and Al's partner Anna, grandchildren Elizabeth and Andrew, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral leaving the residence on Tuesday afternoon, arriving at Belturbet Parish Church for Service at 3pm, followed by committal in the adjoining churchyard. House private please.

Marie Meegan

Creggan, Crossmaglen, Co. Armagh and formerly Corravoo, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan.

Saturday 1st January 2022.

Predeceased by her father Bosco and brother Michael.

Deeply regretted and lovingly missed by her son Eddie, daughter Kerrie, mother Maureen, brothers Brendan and Sean, nephew, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Marie’s home is strictly private.
