Motorists warned of "treacherous travelling conditions"

Met Éireann have issued a warning to motorists to exercise caution when travelling tomorrow morning.

The metrological service have issued a weather advisory for all of Ireland. They say a mix of rain, sleet and snow will clear south over the country this evening and early tonight (Monday night) with a cold airmass following from the north.

Ice is expected to form in some areas which may lead to treacherous travelling conditions overnight and into Tuesday morning.

A status yellow rainfall warning is in place today for Donegal, while local authorities in Monaghan and Longford have take to social media about Orange warnings. The Met Éireann weather warning states that heavy showers or longer spells of rain today may result in some rivers flooding as well as localised surface flooding.
