Almost 22,000 Covid cases reported

Today again saw the number of positive Covid cases reported exceed 20,000.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre were today notified of 21,926 confirmed cases of COVID-19. As of 8am today, 936 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 84 are in ICU.

The HSE outline that given the current high incidence, the daily case number is based on positive SARS-CoV-2 results uploaded to the HSE COVID Care Tracker the preceding day. These data are therefore provisional.
