It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Cillian Boyle

Campstown, Kill, Cootehill, Co. Cavan

Suddenly on January 24th 2022. Beloved and cherished son of Michéal and Maria, adored brother to Katie, Ciara and Darragh. Predeceased by his granddad Tom. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his father Michéal, mother Maria, sisters Katie and Ciara, brother Darragh, his Nanny Mc Phillips, Nanny and Granddad Boyle, his aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours especially the Mc Intyre family, and all the great friends he made along his short journey in life.

Cillian will be reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home Cootehill this Wednesday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm followed by removal to his home at Campstown, Kill, where he will repose amongst his family, neighbours and close friends until Thursday evening at 8 pm.

House strictly private afterwards.

Removal leaving his home on Friday morning at 11.15am via Wrights Cross to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church Kill for 12 noon funeral Mass, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

St. Brigid’s Church will be limited in numbers of people inside, but there is ample space and outdoor amplification surrounding the church. Please keep in mind social distancing and wearing of masks and no shaking hands please.

Bridie Dolan (nee Kiernan)

Woodleigh, Blessington, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Brighton and Castlerahan, Co. Cavan.

24th January 2022. Mother of John, James, Peter and Tracey. Will be dearly missed by her family, sister Maureen and brother Jim, son in law Martin, her sons partners Pam and Linda, grandchildren Síobhán, Edward, Holly, Keira, and Jack, great-grandchild Isla, nieces, nephews extended family, relatives, and friends.

Reposing at her home on Friday, 28th January, from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Mary’s Church, Castlerahan, Co. Cavan, arriving for 12.00 pm Funeral Mass followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. The family thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support during this sensitive time.

Breda Farrelly (née McCaffrey)

Rathgar, Dublin 6 and late of Stradone, Co. Cavan

24 January 2022. Peacefully in the presence of her family in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. Predeceased by her devoted husband Alfey and beloved son Mícháil. Breda is greatly missed by her loving family; Thomas, Kathleen, Rita, Lisa, Roslyn and Danielle, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and adored grandchildren. Deeply regretted by her brothers and sisters, Christy, Austin, Sr. Helen M.S.H.R, Rita, Florrie, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her brothers Fr. Jim C.S.S.p, Austin, Peter, Tommy, Dan, John, Patsy and her sister, Eilish.

House private please. Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Lower Kimmage Road on Thursday (January 27th) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to the Church of St Paul of the Cross, Mount Argus for Funeral Mass at 11.30 am which may be viewed through the parish web camera HERE, followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetery.

Tommy Mc Govern

Naas, Kildare / Swanlinbar, Cavan

Father of the late Emma, son of the late Charlie and Ellie and brother of the late Eileen Scully, Ballymote, Co Sligo. Deeply regretted by his wife Jayne, sons Lee, James and Adam, sisters Ann Sheanon, Ballinagh, Co Cavan, Mary Oakley, Dundalk, Co. Louth, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tommy's remains will arrive to Saint Mary's Church, Swanlinbar, via Main Street, for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon on Wednesday. Burial immediately afterwards in the family plot in Killaduff Cemetery.

Joseph (Joey) O‘Keeffe

Billis, Drumalee, Cavan Town, (ex E.S.B)

Monday, January 24th 2022, peacefully after a short illness at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Denis and Ena and his brother Denis. Beloved husband of Angela (nee O'Reilly) loving Dad to Jonathan and Carla and Grandad to Odhrán. Sadly missed by his daughter in law Gemma, Carla's fiancé Ethan, brothers Phelim, Kieran, Pat, Cyril, sisters Angela, Evelyn, Fidelma, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and all his relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd., Cavan on Wednesday evening from 5pm, concluding with prayers at 8pm. For everyones safety, face masks will be required and there will be no hand shaking. Removal from his home on Thursday at 12.30pm to arrive at the Cathedral of SS Patrick & Felim, Cavan for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Interment afterwards in Cullies Cemetery. House private to family, neighbours and friends please.

Patrick (Pat) Mc Guinness

Aughnamallagh, Smithboro, Co. Monaghan

Monday, January 24th, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Pat, predeceased by his parents John & Bridget. Sadly missed and always loved by his wife Kathleen, son Iain, daughter Sharon, daughter in-law Maria, son in-law Sean Keenan, adored grandchildren Aaron, Conan, Katelyn, Nathan, Aoife & Luke. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his sisters Cora and Maura, his brothers Sean and Tony, brother in-laws Benny Smyth and Martin Lynch, his sisters in-law Bernadette and Mary, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Pat's funeral procession will leave his residence on Thursday morning (27th) at 10:15am via Skeagh Bridge to arrive at St Mary's Church, Threemilehouse for 11am Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Pat's family home will be strictly private due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. For those who would like to attend but are unable, please leave a personal message for the family in the condolence section below.

Finishing Touches Tile Shop, Park Street will be closed until Friday the 28th.
