RTÉ chief to appear before Oireachtas committee

The meeting is set to take place at 1.30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House

The Director General of RTÉ, and Moya Doherty, Chairperson of the RTE Board are set to appear before the Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media later today, a meeting chaired by Cavan-Monaghan Fianna Fail TD, Niamh Smyth.

The purpose of the heads of RTÉ appearing before the Oireachtas Committee is to discuss the national broadcaster's Public Service Statement and Irish Language Services.

The meeting is set to take place at 1.30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House.

The Committee will also discuss correspondence from RTE to Minister Catherine Martin regarding concerns in relation to the RTÉ Board appointments process.

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media, chaired by Deputy Smyth, has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
