Monaghan Institute to host open day
In conjunction with Adult Learners Festival, Monaghan Institute is set to welcome everyone back on campus for the first Open Day of 2022.
It will take place next Thursday, March 10, from 11am to 7pm.
A spokesperson for the institute is encouraging prospective students and parents to attend. “This is a great opportunity to avail of a tour of our college and gain an insight into the many opportunities on offer at Monaghan Institute - get a feel for college life! Meet with our dedicated staff team to find out more about the large range of courses available and about the many benefits of completing a one year programme with us.”
Monaghan institute welcomes Leaving Cert students, the unemployed, mature students or people wanting to gain new skills and qualification to return to work. The further education facility offers over 30 one-year programmes, which include industry placements, direct links to local and national employers and pre-university pathways to degree courses.
Facilities at Monaghan Institute include fully equipped practical rooms, science and IT labs, multi-media laboratories, two hi-spec iMac labs, a hairdressing salon, beauty therapy rooms, a dog grooming parlour, nursing practical room, and electrical and engineering workshops. In addition, there are regular classrooms, tiered lecture halls, a library, consulting rooms, restaurant and study areas.
The Institute also has access to the Garage Theatre on the campus, and shared use of a sports hall with a fitness suite.
A range of recognised qualifications are available from leading certification authorities such as QQI, VTCT (ITEC), City & Guilds, SEC and CompTIA on one and two-year courses. Learners will have enhanced opportunities to enter the workforce or proceed to further study at Institutes of Technology, Further Education colleges or universities. Employers who seek graduates from Monaghan Institute courses speak highly of the training programmes.
