It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Ruby Inglis (nee Armstrong)

Stradone Park, Stradone, Co. Cavan

peacefully, surrounded by her family and in the loving care of the staff at Lisdarn Unit, Cavan. Predeceased by her husbands, Alan Jackson and Robert Inglis. Ruby will be very sadly missed by her daughter Patricia Treacy, son Cyril, son in law Robert, daughter in law Yvonne, her adored grandchildren Vanessa, Alan, Michelle, Neil, Emma, Susan, Gillian, Pamela, Caoimhe, and all her great-grandchildren, her sister Anna McGee, sister in law Ruth Armstrong, nephews, nieces, all her family circle and many friends.

At the late Ruby’s request a private family funeral has taken place.

Elizabeth (Lily) McGivney (nee Maher)

Kill, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan

Sunday, March 27th (peacefully) at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Peter sister Nancy and son Sean. Sadly missed by her sons Michael and Dennis, daughters Martina Coyle and Teresa Comiskey, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren friends and neighbours

Reposing at the residence of her daughter, Teresa Comiskey, Aughaloora, Kilnaleck (Eircode A82 E7E2) today, Monday, from 6pm until 8pm (walk through only, no handshaking). House Private at all other times. Funeral Mass tomorrow, Tuesday, in St Patrick’s Church, Kilnaleck, at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Kill Cemetery.

Bridie Moran (née Smith)

33 Nugent Street, New Hyde Park, New York and late of Knockateggart and Mullamagavin, Stradone, Cavan

Peacefully in New York. Predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents Hugh & Annie (nee Ferguson), her sister Anna Mae, her sister-in-law Kathleen and Uncle Tom. Bridie is remembered with love by her children Patricia, Michael, Gary, Kevin and Brian. Sadly missed by her brother Sean (Knockateggart), and her sister Rosaleen Blute (Florida), son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews Aodhagan & Deirdre, Donna, Michael, Ann & Loretta, cousins Philip and Phyllis, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Bride died in New York on 28th March 2020, when New York was in the height of the Pandemic, she never received a Funeral Mass. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, 1st April, at 6.45pm, in St. Michael's Church, Clifferna. A link to view the Mass will be posted here.

Mary Tully (née Daly)

Peacefully at Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home in the loving care of the wonderful nursing staff.

Predeceased by her loving husband Phil. Sadly missed by her best friend Ann, her cousins, extended family and her many friends and staff at Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home where Mary spent the last 10 years.

Reposing at Clarke’s Funeral Home Bailieborough (A82 W2H7) Tuesday 29th from 6 - 8.30pm Removal to St. Kilian's Church Mullagh on Wednesday Morning 30th March for Funeral Mass at 11am Followed by Cremation in Lakeland's Crematorium Cavan.

Hugh (Hughie) Connolly

Rush, Dublin / Knockatallon, Monaghan

March 28, 2022, (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family, Hugh (Hughie), loving husband of the late Philomena; sadly missed by his loving children Eamon, Dermot, Anne, Eithne, Barbara and Deirdre, sons in law Don, Conor, Liam and Paul, daughter in law Mary, grandchildren Aaron, Sean, Adam, Shauna, Liam, Emma, Aoife, Charlie, Jack, Hughie and Darragh, brothers Jimmy and Owenie, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Wednesday evening from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 10am in St. Maur's Church, Rush, followed by burial in Whitestown Cemetery, Rush. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to The Alzheimer's Society of Ireland. Donation box at church.

Kevin Conroy

Beech Drive, Carrickmacross

28th March 2022. In his 95th year. Peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth, his grandson Sean, his parents Joe & Elizabeth, his brothers Joe, Brian & John and his sisters Maureen, Ann & Phylis.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his cherished family, his wife Mary, his sons Noel & Mark and his daughter Marie, his daughters-in-law Tracey & Caroline, his adored grandchildren Ailish, Mary-Ellen, Melissa, Rory, Emelia & Isobella, his great-grandson Rowan Sean, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

House strictly private to family & neighbours only.

Kevin's funeral cortège will leave his home on Wednesday, 30th March, at 10:40am, proceeding on foot via the Bridewell & Main Street to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Peacefully in the tender care of the staff of the Lorgan Unit, St. Mary’s Hospital, Castleblayney, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Eilish and their daughter Cíara.

Loving father to daughters Marie McCooey, Eileen Gaffney, Nuala Conlon, Marcella Boyd and Gráinne O’Brien and sons Colm and Barry.

Sadly missed by his daughters, sons, sons in law Jim, Ian, Finbar, Eugene and Pat, daughters in law Amanda and Alma, his seventeen grandchildren, his sisters Alice Creamer, Mary Clerkin, Eileen Gissane, Sally Barry and Celine Lowe, sister in law Mary McRory, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home (H18F254) on Tuesday, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 p.m until 9 p.m., subject to Covid 19 guidelines.

Removal on Thursday at 10.15 a.m., arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Latlurcan.

Susan Treanor, nee Mc Mahon

Main St, Smithborough, Co. Monaghan

Monday 28th March. Peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Charlie. Beloved and much loved Mother of Francie, Cahal, Seamus, Brendan, Angela, Gerard, Martin and Paul. Susan will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughter, sons, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Mary Mc Carville, nieces, nephews, extended family, carers, friends and by all who knew and loved Susan.

Susan will be resting at the family home from 4pm to 8pm today Monday 28th March and again tomorrow Tuesday 29th March from 2pm to 8pm. Susan's funeral cortège will travel from the family home at approximately 10.30am to arrive at St Mary's Chapel, Magherarney for 11.00am Mass on Wednesday morning.
