It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Mairéad Bourke (née Lawler)

The death has occurred of Mairéad Bourke (née Lawler) Lawndale House, Portaliffe, Killeshandra, Cavan and formerly Killygarry House, Cavan, April 20, 2022, peacefully in the loving and tender care of the nurses and staff at Mary Mount Care Centre, Lucan, Dublin.

Beloved wife of the late Dr Tom Bourke. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving son Charlie (Karl), daughters, Blanaid, Orla, Deirdre, Maliosa, Deirbhile, Ciara and Joan, her daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, 23 grandchildren, sister-in-law, Evelyn (USA), cousins Collette and Madelaine, nephews, nieces, and extended Lawler and Bourke family. May she rest in peace.

Angela Deignan (née Masterson)

The death has occurred of Angela Deignan (nee Masterson), Gortaquill, Milltown, Belturbet, April 20, 2022, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband, Patrick, daughter, Patricia, son-in-law Donogh and their children Kate and Ellen, son, John, his children, Caoimhe and Aoibhinn and their mother Aisling, and son, Francis, brothers, Noel and Seamus (Enniskillen), Brendan (Dromore), sister-in-law, Kathleen (Kinawley), nephews, nieces, extended family, friends, and all who knew and loved Angela. May she rest in peace.

Angela's remains will be reposing at Lawlor's Funeral Home, Erne Hill, Belturbet (H14 R583) on Thursday (21st April), from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from her daughter Patricia's home on Friday morning (22nd April) at 10.30am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Staghall for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. House private to family and friends please.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Coronary Care Unit, Cavan General Hospital, c/o Mark Lawlor Funeral Director.

Seamus (Seamie) Kinsella

The death has occurred of Seamus (Seamie) Kinsella, Esker Lodge Nursing Home and formerly The Steeples, Wolfe Tone St. Cavan. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in the loving care of the staff at Lisdarn Nursing Unit, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parent's Edward and Josephine, brothers Gerry, Peter and Liam and sisters Betty, Poppy, Maureen and baby Olive. Sadly missed by his brothers Pat, Teddy and John, sisters Sr Jacinta (Joan), Bernie and Kitty, nephews, nieces, all his extended family and many friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan on Thursday evening from 5pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm. This will be a walk through only with no hand shaking and face masks to be worn please. Seamie's remains will leave the Funeral Home at 11.15 on Friday morning to travel to the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30. Following Mass the Funeral cortège will travel to St Brigid's Cemetery Killygarry, via 45 College St , for committal prayers and burial. Family flowers only please. Sean McManus

The death has occurred of Sean McManus, Laytown, Meath and formerly of Ballinagh, Co Cavan,

April 20, 2022. Peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Margaret and his sister Maureen. Beloved father of Mairín, Michael, Anne, Orla, Kevin, Ronan, Shane, Lucy, Julie and Amie. Sadly missed by his family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his grandchildren, great-granddaughter, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home on Thursday evening from 4pm until 8pm. Removal on Friday morning walking to Sacred Heart Church, Laytown arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am which will be streamed live on www.youtube.com/user/finnegandvd Burial afterwards in Reilig Mhuire, Piltown. Jack Plunkett

The death has occurred of Jack Plunkett, Brackloney, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan. April 19, 2022. Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Breda, family Seán and Colleen, Kevin and Raicheal, his adored grandchildren Callie and Laila, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law Bridie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. May Jack rest in peace.

Reposing at Gibney’s Funeral Home, Oldcastle on Thursday 21st from 4pm to 8pm. Removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Mountnugent on Friday 22nd for funeral mass at 11am. Thomas Patrick Hamill

The death has occurred of Thomas Patrick Hamill, 1 An Carraig, Mall Road, Monaghan Town, Monaghan. Thomas passed away peacefully on April 20, 2022, in the loving care of the staff in Cavan General Hospital. Thomas will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving wife Catherine, his sister Kathleen (Canada), friends, neighbours and by all who knew him. Rest in peace.

Reposing at the premises of McElvaney Funeral Directors, Church Square, Monaghan on Thursday from 5pm until 7pm, subject to Covid 19 guidelines. House strictly private please. Maureen McKenna (née Jones)

The death has occurred of Maureen McKenna (nee Jones), Ballybay, Monaghan and Killeeshil, Tyrone, April 20, 2022, peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family with the support of Cavan and Monaghan palliative care team. Predeceased by her brother Tom and Sisters, Sheila and Kathleen. Sadly missed by her husband Brendan and her devoted children, Oonagh, Roisin and Brian. Special Aunt to Liz, mother in Law to Joseph and Oliver, and adoring grandmother to Tiarnan, Bronagh, Karla, Roisha, Caitlín and Micháel. Maureen will be sadly missed by her sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and many precious neighbours, and friends. May Maureen rest in peace.

Maureen will be reposing at her home at The Square, Ballybay on Thursday, April 21 from 2pm until 8pm and on Friday April 22, from 2pm until 8pm. Removal to Saint Patrick's Church, Ballybay for 11am Funeral Mass on Saturday morning. Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

James H (Seamus) McPhillips

The death has occurred of James H (Seamus) McPhillips, Harold’s Cross and late of Monaghan, April 18, 2022. Retired Principal St Mac Dara’s Community College, Templeogue. Suddenly at his home, in the presence of his loving family. Seamus will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Eithne and daughter Fidelma, his sister and brother Kathleen and Michael, brother-in-law Terry Brady, nieces, nephews, former colleagues, relatives, friends and many neighbours. Predeceased by his brother Eddie, sister Margaret Moran and recently by his sister-in-law Mary Rose Brady. Rest in peace.
