It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie.

Kathleen Boylan (née Smith)

The death has occurred of Kathleen “Nana” Boylan (nee Smith)

Rassan Road, Ballyjamesduff (and formerly Lavey), Co. Cavan.

Kathleen died peacefully in her 89th year surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the wonderful staff of Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Michael, and her 5 sisters, Rose, Anna, Madge, Sue and Philomena. She will be sadly missed by her son Matt and daughters Marie and Annette, daughter-in-law Marie, sons-in-laws James and Peadar, her loving grandchildren Rosie, Trina, Michelle, Michael, Gary, Regina, Lizzie and Jamie and her adored great-grandchildren Alana, Anastasia, Kacey, Lily, Logan, Ollie and Brody, relatives, kind neighbours and large circle of friends.

Reposing Saturday, 18th June and Sunday 19th June at Matthews Funeral Home, Virginia from 6:00pm with prayers at 8:30pm both evenings. Removal on Monday, 20th of June to St. Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesduff arriving at 12 noon for Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in St. Dympna’s Cemetry, Upper Lavey, A82 XW61.

Margaret McGorry (née O'Reilly)

The death has occurred of Margaret McGorry nee O'Reilly Knocknalossett, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, died June 17, 2022, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Sean. Deeply regretted by her family, son Seamus (Joanna), daughters Annette (Colm) and Michelle (Seamus), grandchildren Enda, Darren and Zara, extended family, neighbours and friends. May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough, Saturday evening from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral service in Clarke's Funeral Home, Sunday at 12 noon, with private cremation afterwards. No Flowers and house private please.

Liam Butler

The death has occurred of Liam Butler, Kilnacrott, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan Liam passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on the June 16 2022. Liam, late of ESB and MACI, will forever be missed by his loving wife Maura, his children Catherine, William, Caroline, Stephen, Alan and Marie, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, siblings and friends. May He Rest in Peace.

Seamus Donohoe

The death has occurred of Seamus Donohoe Doogary, Killeshandra, Cavan June 17, 2022, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, wife Mairead, daughters Sarah and Áine, son-in-law Padraic, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.

Seamus' remains will be reposing at Lawlor's Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet, (H14 R583) on Saturday evening, 18th June, from 5pm until evening prayers at 7pm. Walk through only and no handshaking please. Removal from his residence on Monday morning, 20th June, at 11.30am to arrive at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ballyconnell for 12 noon funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Hugh Kiernan

The death has occurred of Hugh Kiernan, June 16, 2022, Reading, Berkshire, England and formerly of Drumroosk, Killeshandra.

Predeceased by his parents John and Rose, deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Joan, sons John and Paul, sister Marie Mulligan (Drumroosk), nephews, niece, relatives and friends. May he Rest in Peace.

Tommy Quilty

The death has occurred of Tommy Quilty, Lisgrea, Virginia, Co. Cavan, and formerly Charleville, Co. Cork on June 17, 2022, unexpectedly but peacefully at his home. Much loved and cherished husband of Joan (née Tighe) and adored father of Emma and Brian. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, daughter and son, his brothers, his sisters, nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.

Remains reposing at his residence today ( A82K192 ) from 6 o'clock until prayers at 8 and on Saturday from 4 o'clock until prayers at 8 o'clock. House private at all other times please. Removal on Sunday from his home arriving to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia for 3 o'clock Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Joan Gallagher (née McKeown). Tullynaskeagh West, Carrickmacross. 17 June 2022. Peacefully at her home following a short illness. Predeceased by her parents Richard & Janie and her sister Ann.

Michael (Mick) McNally

The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) McNally, Lagan, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan. Friday June 17, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.

Mick is remembered with love by his family, wife Bernie, son Alan, his wife Siobhan and Cian, daughter Janet, sisters Maureen, Roni, Anne, Gretta and Kay, sister in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Mick’s Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Mick will repose at Ward’s Funeral Home Castleblayney on Sunday afternoon from 4pm until 7pm. Mick’s funeral cortège will travel privately from the family home in Lagan on Monday morning at 10:30am to arrive at The Sacred Heart Church Lough Egish for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Seán Shannon

The death has occurred of Seán Shannon Navan Road, Dublin / Latton, Monaghan, June 16, 2022. Late of Kinvara Road, Navan Road, Dublin 7 and formerly of Latton, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully. Seán will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Margaret, son Ciarán. Sisters and brothers, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbours. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home on Sunday from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral on Monday morning to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Navan Road arriving for 10am Requiem mass followed by cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers to the Irish Heart Foundation.
