It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie.

Cathal Fitzpatrick

Dublin Road, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan

Monday July 4th 2022, peacefully, in the loving care of his family and the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan. Beloved son of the late Charles C. and Bridget Fitzpatrick and brother of the late Tommy, Sean and Tilly his infant sisters Nora, and Anamarie and infant brother Francis Joseph. Cathal will be very sadly missed by his sisters Eileen Leddy, Dublin and Bridie Gaffney, New York, his brother in law Brendan, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, neighbours, all his relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan H12 C821, on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 8pm. Walk through and refrain from handshaking, please. Masks are advised for the safety of family and all those attending. Removal from the home of his nephew Charlie and wife Helena, Urney, on Thursday morning, arriving to St. Felim’s Church, Ballinagh, for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial will take place after Mass in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Those who cannot attend Cathal’s Funeral are asked to leave their condolences for the family in the section at the end of this page. Felix Harten

Manchester, England and formerly of Maughera, Finea and Moydristan, Ballyheelan, Kilnaleck

Tuesday, June 28th (peacefully) in Manchester. Sadly missed by his family; John, Colin, Joan (Kevin) Padraig (Louise), their mother Kathleen, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Funeral will take place in Manchester. Arrangements will be posted later.

Christina Sheridan (nee Deneher)

Late of Cordownan & Broad Road, Arva, Co. Cavan

Monday, 4th July in her 95th year, peacefully in the loving care of her family and staff at Castlemanor Nursing Home, Cavan; predeceased by her husband, Vincent and son, Gabriel. Loving mother of Geraldine (Damien), Martin (Noeleen), and Carmel (David), much loved Granny to Daniel, Ruth, Stephen, Jack, Emily & Grace. Sadly missed by her family, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan this Wednesday evening from 6.00pm until 8.30pm with removal on Thursday morning to the Sacred Heart Church, Arva for Funeral Mass at 11.00am, followed by interment to Coronea Cemetery.

Please maintain social distancing at the Funeral Home and in the Church; No handshaking, please (walk-through only when sympathising). Please wear a face-mask for the welfare of all present. Thank you.

Convent View, Carrickmacross

5th July 2022. Aged 17 years. Peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his cherished family. Predeceased by his uncles Noel, Liam & Paul McEntegart.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken family, his beloved mammy & daddy, Mark & Sharon, his brother Axel, his grandparents Patrick & Noreen Baldwin and Noel & Mary McEntegart, his aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives & friends.

Kurt's funeral cortège will leave his home on Thursday, 7th July, at 10:35am, proceeding on foot to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Raymond Kernan

Drumakill, Castleblayney, Monaghan

4th July, 2022 peacefully at his residence. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Mary Teresa and his siblings Zita, Des, Aiden, Miriam, Carmel, Valerie, Ronan and Barbara. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Maura, daughter Irene, son Garrett, grandson Max, son-in-law Lee, daughter-in-law Emma, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence today Tuesday until his removal on Thursday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Castleblayney for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for Private service. Those who cannot attend may view Raymond’s Funeral Mass live from 11.00am using the Muckno Parish Webcam. Messages of condolence for Raymond’s family can be left using the condolence section below.

Due to the increase in Covid-19 numbers, we ask those in attendance wear masks and adhere to social distancing where possible.

Meta Martin

Lattacrossan, Scotshouse and formerly of Belfast

Meta died peacefully at home aged 92. Much loved mother to Irene O’Brien, also of Scotshouse. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 4pm to 9pm on Wednesday, 6th July. Removal on Thursday afternoon at 3.15pm to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for 4pm. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland and Palliative Care, Cavan and Monaghan c/o Gerard McMahon, Funeral Director. House strictly private on Thursday please.

The family would like those who are visiting the house to pay their respects to please wear a face mask, use the hand sanitizer and adhere to the Covid Guidelines please.
