Change of referee for Tailteann Cup final

There has been a change of referee for this Saturday's Tailteann Cup senior football final between Westmeath and Cavan at Croke Park (throw-in 3pm).

Maurice Deegan of Laois had been listed to referee the final of the inaugural competition, but Derry's Barry Cassidy will now take charge of the game. The GAA confirmed the change yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

The eagerly awaited contest is part of an attractive double header, with Galway taking on Derry in the first of the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals afterwards (5.30pm). The second of the semi-finals is between old rivals Kerry and Dublin on Sunday.
