It is with regret that we note the following deaths from counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Rt. Rev. Paul (James) MADDEN, O.Praem

Holy Trinity House, Lismacanican, Mountnugent, Cavan / Belfast, Antrim

Deeply regretted by his dad, brothers, sisters and entire family circle, his fellow Brothers of the Order of St Norbert, his colleagues, parishioners and many friends.

Fr Paul (Jim) will be reposing at PJ Brown’s Chapel of Rest, 422 Oldpark Road, Belfast BT14 6QF on Sunday and Monday, July 18th and 19th until 7pm, and thereafter at his family home, 35 Rosemount Gardens, Belfast BT15 5AJ. Removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Glenview Street, Belfast BT14 7DP on Thursday, July 21st, arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, July 22nd at 1.30pm, followed by cremation at Roselawn Crematorium at 4pm.

Drummully, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan and formerly Kilnacrott, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan

Saturday, July 16th 2022, peacefully, at her home, after a long illness borne with patience, dignity and courage. Wonderful wife and best friend of Jonathan and devoted and loving mother of Kayla and Christopher. Michelle will be very sadly missed by her family, her parents Matt and Sheila Murphy, Kilnacrott, her parents in law Christopher and Mary, brother Patrick, sister Lorraine, brother in law Anthony, sisters in law Karen (Thomas), Jillian (Philip), Fidelma (Sean), nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, all her relatives and many, many friends.

Reposing at her home (H12YY88) this evening, Saturday, from 7pm until 10pm and again on Sunday from 4pm until 8pm. House private to family and close friends at all other times. Walk through only please, no hand shaking and masks are advisable. Removal from her home on Monday to St. Brigid's Church, Killeshandra, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12.30pm.

Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining new cemetery. A one way system will be in operation entering from Crohan Bridge and exiting on the Killeshandra / Milltown road. Funeral Mass can be viewed live at the following link https://www.churchtv.ie/killeshandra/

Owen Murphy

Annaglough, Castleshane, Co.Monaghan

Friday July 15th, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Henry-Joseph and Kathleen, brother Vincent and sister Maureen O’Sullivan. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his heartbroken family, wife Eileen, sons Brendan (Nicola) and Noel (Ann), daughters Michelle and Mairéad (Erick), brothers Pat (Clontibret), Frank (Sligo) and Michael (Dublin), his cherished grandchildren Shane, Pauric, Maria, Taylor-Marie, Christian, Sophie, Mollie, Morgan, Lillie, Daisy, Owen and Finian, brother in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Owen’s funeral cortège will travel from the family home on Monday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan, for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Latlurcan Cemetery Monaghan. House private please, by request.

Please adhere to the current Government and HSE Covid guidelines while attending Owen’s funeral Mass and burial.
