Traffic plan for National Ploughing Championships

In excess of 80,000 persons anticipated to attend over three days.

An Garda Síochána has a significant Policing Operation in place for the National Ploughing Championships- taking place from Tuesday-Thursday, September 20-22.

With an anticipated in excess of 80,000 persons attending, gardaí stress that the assistance of all road users is required to allow Traffic to move freely to and from the event during these times.

Gardaí are urging road users not attending the National Ploughing Championships to avoid the N80 at Stradbally, and all approach roads to Ratheniska village from Tuesday, September 20 at 6am to Thursday, September 22, at 8pm.

For those attending the National Ploughing Championships, please view in the advance the Traffic Management Plan on Garda.ie or NPA.ie.

An Garda Community Engagement – #Ploughing2022

An Garda Síochána Stand can be found at Block 3, Row 20, Stand 329.

Over the course of the 3 days Garda Members and Garda Staff will be in attendance to discuss topics with patrons including:

• Community Engagement

• Crime Prevention

• Roads Policing

• Juvenile Diversion Programme

• Diversity Unit

• Recruitment

• Cyber Crime

• Economic Crime

Demonstrations of Mobility Devices, Road Policing Equipment and Property Marking equipment and photo opportunities with Gardaí, a range of Garda Vehicles, The Garda Mounted Unit amongst others will be facilitated.

An Garda Síochána, in this our Centenary year (1922 – 2022), will host a Centenary exhibition of memorabilia, photographs, access to the online Photographic archive and information on ‘The Guardians’ Centenary Book in Stand 328.

An Garda Síochána has also partnered with the Department of Justice in Stand 328 where information on Victims Services will also be provided.

The Garda Band will be in attendance at the National Ploughing Championships on the afternoon of Thursday, September 22.
