It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Thomas (Mossie) Briody

Callanagh, Kilcogy, Cavan

Died peacefully at his home on 1st October 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Mary Jane and Hugh P. and his sister Patricia (Gilligan).

Sadly missed by his loving wife Marian, daughters Olivia (Serge), Carol, sons Martin (Corina), Tomas (Pauline), sisters Annette (Val), Josie, Rita (Pauline), brothers Tony, Hugo (Ita), Padraig (Paula) and his aunt Anna, his beloved grandchildren Katie, Eabha, Clodagh, Aimee, Patrick, Chloe and Zoe, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home Kilcogy Village (N39W1D6) on Monday evening from 5pm with prayers at 8pm.

Removal from his home on Tuesday morning arriving Our Lady of Lourdes Church Mullahoran for 12 noon Funeral Mass. followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Edward Mc Guinness

Lisdrumskeagh, Shercock and late Tullawaltra, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan

Died 1st October 2022, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his loving daughter Teresa, brothers Paddy, Michael, Martin, Terence, Paul, sisters Mary, Ellen, Jenny, Kathleen, Maggie and Ann, son in law Dan, grandchildren Kieran and Kai, sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Clarke's funeral home, Bailieborough, Monday from 5pm to 8pm. No shaking of hands by family request, please. Removal from his brother Paddy's residence, Tullawaltra, Tuesday morning at 10.40am to arrive at St Brigid's Church, Knockbride West (Tunnyduff) for funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to Cavan / Monaghan Palliative Care via donation box in funeral home or any family member.

Kathleen Dolan (née Marron)

Oaklawn Drive, Roscommon Town and formerly of Toey, Shantonagh, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan and Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim

October 1st, 2022. (Suddenly), at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Dan, son Thomas, parents Thomas and Kate, brother Thomas and her sisters Mary and Rose. She will be very sadly missed by her daughters Rose, Patricia, Mairead and Bernie, sons Joe and Brendan, brother Patrick, sons-in-law Morgan and Frank, daughter-in-law Linda, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home (Eircode F42 AX29) on Tuesday evening from 5 o’c until 8 o’c and again on Wednesday evening from 5 o’c until 8 o’c. Removal on Thursday morning leaving her home at 10.30 o’c to arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’c. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery. John (Johny) Kinnear Ross

Clontibret, Monaghan

And formerly Birmingham, UK. Passed away on Friday, 23rd September 2022, while on holiday in Greece. Loving brother of Edna, Robert, Vida and the late Betty and Ruby.

Johny will be dearly missed by his brother, sisters, nephew, nieces, the wider family circle and his many friends.

Funeral service on Thursday, 6th October, in Clontibret Presbyterian Church, Braddox, at 1pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining church yard.

Ollie Treanor snr

Scotstown, Co. Monaghan and formerly, Knockcor, Tydavnet, Co. Monaghan

Sunday 2nd October peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, Eugene & Annie Treanor and granddaughter Aobha. Deeply regretted by his daughters Caroline (Ciaran), Linda (Gerard), Amanda (Kevin), sons Declan (Aoife) & Ollie (Niamh), his beloved grandchildren, Cara, Cian, Adam, Freya, Tadhg, Saoirse & Emma. Sadly missed by his sisters Una (Pete), Bernie (Mickey RIP), Dympna (Patsy), Mag (Francie) & Monica (Raymond), his brothers Micheal, Seamus (Jennie RIP), Brian (Bernie) & Raymond, extended family and friends.

Ollie’s remains will repose at his late residence, H18 X892, on Sunday from 7pm - 9pm and on Monday from 12 Noon - 9pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am at St. Dympna's Church, Tydavnet. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Irish Cancer Society c/o Peter McMahon, McMahons Funeral Home, Emyvale or any family member.
