It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Carmel Gavin (née Beatty)

Main Street, Ballinagh, Cavan, H12 V6T2 / Tullamore, Offaly

Carmel (formerly Arden Road, Tullamore, Co. Offaly) has sadly passed away on 9th October 2022, peacefully in the loving care of her family by her bedside. A loving wife to Eamonn and adored Mam to Caroline, Enda and Katie. Sadly mourned by her sons-in-law Tomás and Cathal and daughter-in-law, Lisa. Much loved nana to Conor, Ned, Jack and Annie. Treasured sister to Chris and Kate and deeply missed by their families, her sister-in-law Mary and her family and by Carmel's many friends and neighbours.

Reposing in her home on Tuesday, 11th October from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass at 2pm on Wednesday, 12th of October, in St. Felim's Church, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan and afterwards to Lakeland's Crematorium for private cremation. Current Covid restrictions and regulations will apply. Family flowers only please. Donations welcome to Cavan/Monaghan Specialist Palliative Care Service (IAPC).

Larry Keenan

Kingscourt Road, Shercock, Cavan, A81 AK19 / Castleblayney, Monaghan

Formerly Laragh, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. Larry has sadly passed away peacefully and in the loving care of his family at his bedside, along with the professional and caring staff of the Beacon Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Annie & Pat. A kind and loving husband to Bernie, an adored father to P.J., Laurence, Ann & Rosie. Much loved grandfather to Conor, Ryan, Jessica, Dean, Brendan & Eleanor. Deeply respected by his daughter-in-law Rosemarie and sons-in-law Declan and Raymond. Sadly mourned by his sisters Annamay & Bridgie and their children Teresa, Patrick, Josephine & Thomas. Sadly missed by a wide circle of relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his residence on Tuesday from 12 noon to 8m, A81AK19. House Private at all other times. Removal on Wednesday morning to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Shercock, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Ellie Keogan (née McCabe)

Killatain, Carrickaboy, Cavan, H12 ET62 / Crosskeys, Cavan

Ellie Keogan Née McCabe, Killatain, Carrickaboy, Co Cavan Sunday Oct. 9th peacefully (in her 98th year) at home in the loving care of her family. Beloved wife of the late Seamus and dear mother of Mary, Brian, Jimmy, Sean, Eamon, Michael and Declan. Sadly missed by her loving daughter, sons, daughters in law, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home H12 ET62 this Monday evening from 5.00pm until 8.00pm and again on Tuesday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 12th, at 12.00 noon, in St. Matthew's Church, Crosskeys, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brigid O'Brien (née Collins)

Institute Road, Bailieborough, Cavan / Kells, Meath

Brigid O'Brien, nee Collins, Institute Road, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, died 9th October 2022, peacefully, at St Elizabeth's Nursing Home, Athboy, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Tommy and son Thomas. Sadly missed by her loving family, sons and daughter Colm, Clare and Paul, daughters in law Margaret and Caroline, son in law Padraig, sister in law Maise Collins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace

Reposing at her son Paul's residence Carlanstown, Co. Meath (Eircode A82 PW44) Monday, from 3pm to 7pm. Removal Tuesday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St Michael's Church, Staholmog, for funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please.

Jim (James) Clarke

Derryrusk, Latton P.O., Latton, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Jim (James) Clarke, October, 5th 2022, peacefully, in New South Wales, Australia and formerly of Derryrusk, Latton P.O., Castleblaney Co. Monaghan. Predeceased by his parents Mick and Anniemay Clarke, The Forge, Derryrusk and his sister, Kitty Martin, Cullyhanna. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by Kathie his son Liam, his sisters, Anne Lennon, Bridget Bray, Joan Brett, Caroline Clarke, Therese Clarke, Bernadette Burke and Helen Newman, his brothers Patrick, Mick, Philip, Tommy and Paul, his aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and a large circle of friends both in Ireland and Australia.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Jim's funeral will take place on Saturday, October 15th 2022, at 1pm in St. Mary's Church, Maclean N.S.W. Australia. Mass for the repose of Jim's soul will take place in St Mary's Church, Latton on Friday, 14th October, at 7.30 pm.
