The cast of St Aidan’s Comprehensive School’s upcoming musical comedy ‘The Wedding Singer’.

Say 'I Do' to 'The Wedding Singer'

The students at St Aidan's Comprehensive are too young to be getting married just yet but, nevertheless, they are getting ready to host 'The Wedding Singer' in the Cootehill school next week.

This musical comedy, based on the film of the same name starring Adam Sandler, will have you splitting your sides and dancing in the aisles.

The cast was confirmed before the Summer break by Gavin Quigley; while Paige Cunningham and Mrs Siobhan Maguire began rehearsals last month with the huge cast of 120.

The rehearsal studios have been filled with song and dance ever since.

Katie Ward plays Julia, a girl in love with weddings, eager to marry her fiancé Glen, played by Brandon Dempsey, but does she really love him? Meanwhile Danny Clerkin plays the role of Robbie Hart, lead singer in a wedding band with Sammy (Lee Pepper) and George (Lila McCaul). Robbie has been jilted at the altar by his fiancée Linda (Heidi Watson).

Kind Julia tries to help a heartbroken Robbie to find his mojo, get out of Granny’s (Bronagh Joyce) basement, and get back to his music. Will Robbie get over his heartbreak with Holly, played by Emily Reynolds, to help Julia plan her wedding, or will his true feelings be revealed?

Some great hits like 'Saturday Night in the City' and 'All About the Green' will have you bopping, belly laughing and foot tapping. The show runs from Tuesday, October 25 to Thursday, October 27.
