Sunny spells with scattered heavy showers

Long spells of scattered heavy showers are predicted, especially in the west and northwest.

“Some of the showers will be thundery with spot flooding possible,” says national forecaster Met Eireann.

They add that cloud will continue to build from the southwest towards the evening with more outbreaks of rain following.
