Breezy day with scattered showers

Breezy today with bright spells and scattered showers, some heavy in the west and north. Maximum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in fresh and gusty southwest winds.

Mostly dry early on tonight and chilly for a time with lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees. Turning milder later as outbreaks of rain and drizzle spread gradually from the southwest. Moderate south to southwest breezes will increase fresh and gusty towards dawn on Thursday.

Becoming rather windy on Thursday with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading northeastwards over the country. Heavier and more persistent falls in the west and southwest with the lengthiest dry spells in the east of the country. Clear spells and a few showers will follow from the west later in the evening as rain clears into the Irish Sea. Becoming very windy in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds along with gales in the northwest.

Becoming mostly dry on Thursday night with clear spells. A rather chilly night with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees in moderate southwest winds.

Very unsettled with cold and windy weather for a time over the weekend.

A good deal of dry weather across the country on Friday with just a few showers, mainly in the south and west. However, towards evening, outbreaks of rain will develop in the south and west and it will become windy. Outbreaks of rain will then extend nationwide on Friday evening. Maximum temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in freshening southerly winds. On Friday night, a spell of rain will push northeastwards over the country, clearing to scattered showers later. Becoming colder with lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees in fresh to strong southerly winds.

Fresh and blustery on Saturday with sunny spells and scattered rain or hail showers along with the chance of sleet on high ground. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in strong and gusty southerly winds. Windy on Saturday night with widespread showers, some of hail. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds.

Very windy on Sunday with sunshine and blustery showers, some with hail and thunder. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in strong and gusty southwest to west winds. High seas along the Atlantic seaboard with gales. Staying windy overnight with clear spells and widespread blustery showers of rain or hail. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.

Further Outlook: Staying unsettled next week with areas of low pressure pushing in from the Atlantic bringing very windy weather along with rain or showers.
