Walk in vaccination clinics continue in Cavan
The HSE continue to operate walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Cavan this week at Drumalee GAA Club, Cavan Town, and the old Courthouse in Ballyjamesduff.
No appointment is needed and you can attend any of these walk-in clinics to receive your next booster vaccine if you are 18 years and over. Everyone will be offered a bivalent booster vaccine.
The HSE is emphasing that vaccines are proven to be your best protection against serious illness from COVID-19. It says those who haven’t had their booster vaccine yet are at high risk.
The appeal comes as high levels of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, continue to circulate in the community. As a result, a HSE spokesperson says, it’s important that all eligible people avail of the COVID-19 booster to protect themselves and those around them from serious illness.
All people in the 18-49 years age group are eligible for their second COVID-19 booster, provided it is six months since their last vaccine or since they had a COVID-19 infection.
The HSE will also issue a reminder text messages to the 18-49 year olds due a booster. Almost 1.7 million are in this group and to date 95,000 or six per cent have taken their second booster vaccine
You can check the number of COVID-19 vaccines you have already received and the date of your last COVID-19 vaccine on your digital COVID-19 certificate.
Booster COVID-19 vaccines are also available at participating GPs and pharmacies and information on getting your booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is available here.
