It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Tony Cullen

Ballycastle, Antrim / Swanlinbar, Cavan

Cullen - Tony RIP, March 15th 2023 peacefully at his home, 18 Market Court, Ballycastle, Co. Antrim, formerly of The Stables, Swanlinbar, Co. Cavan, dearly loved husband of Siobhan, much loved father of Anthony, Fiona, Michelle, Marguerite, Hughie and Shane and a very dear father in law, grandad, great-grandad, brother, brother in law and uncle.

His remains will leave his home on Friday at 12.30pm to St. Patrick’s and St. Brigid’s Church, Ballycastle for 1.00pm Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. He will be reposing at his home, callers welcome on Thursday from 4.00pm to 9.00pm.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Marie Curie c/o DJM Robinson & Son, 121 Culcrum Road, Cloughmills, Co. Antrim, BT44 9DT. Lovingly Remembered.

Seamus Prior

Altachullion, Corlough, Cavan / Dublin

Tragically, on 10th March 2023.

Predeceased by his father James. Loving son of Mary Kate and brother of T. J., Bernard, Mary (Seamus), Bridie, Kathleen, Christina (John), Seán (Anne-Marie), Eamon (Maria). He will be sadly missed by his extended family, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High St., Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim (N41 TD62) this Thursday evening from 6pm until 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning, from the home of his brother Seán in Altachullion, to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Corlough, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon (H14 VK30). Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Oughterard, Galway / Clontibret, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Gerry Harris, Oughterard, Co. Galway,formerly of London and Fintully, Clontibret, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully on the 12th of March, surrounded by his family.He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Noreen, his children Patricia, Marion and Gerard, his grandchildren Connor, Isabelle and Chelsea.

Rest in Peace.

Joseph (Joe) Kelly

Fermoyle, Smithborough, Monaghan, H18 HP78

The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Kelly, peacefully in Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Joe is predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Kathleen,sister, Patricia and brother-in-law, Packie. Joe was a loving husband to Carmel and a loving father to Paul (Diane), Stephen (Helena) and Christina (Alex). Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife, sisters Maureen Mullan (Packie) and Chris Mc Manamon (Pat), sister-in-law Kathleen Mc Mahon, grandchildren Shane, Darren, Leah, Oisin, Clodagh, Cillian, and great-grandson Noah.

May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Joe's remains will repose at his home from today (Wednesday 15 March) at 18:00pm until funeral mass on Friday morning, 17 March, at 11:30am in St. Mary's Church, Urbleshanny, Scotstown. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time only please on Friday morning. Family flowers only please. John McMahon

Templeogue, Dublin / Clontibret, Monaghan

McMahon, John, 14th March 2023, Cypress Grove Rd., Templeogue, formerly of Clontibret, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully, surrounded by his family in Tallaght Hospital. Reunited with his beloved wife of 60 years Maura, who sadly passed away 6 weeks ago. Much loved father of Mary (Ryan) and Ann Marie. John will be forever loved and dearly missed by his daughters, son-in-law Kevin, granddaughters Aoife and Niamh, sister-in-law Eveleen, extended family, relatives, and friends.

May he Rest in Peace.

Eileen Mundy (née Mohan)

Dernadarriff, Clara, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Eileen Mundy nee Mohan, Redditch, Birmingham, England and formerly Dernadarriff, Clara, Co. Monaghan. Monday 13th March, peacefully at her home after a short illness bravely borne, in the loving care of her family.

Pre-deceased by her parents James and Mary Ann, her much loved infant sons Martin and Michael, her brother Kevin and sister Annie Treanor. Eileen was the beloved wife of Michael (Clonmel, Tipperary) and cherished mother to Ann, Rose, Carmel and Anthony. She will be sadly missed by her family, sons in law, daughter in law, adored grandchildren, brothers James and Peter sisters Theresa, Margaret, Rose and Bernadette, extended family & many friends.

Eileen's Funeral Mass will take place at a later date in Birmingham and interment afterwards at Brandwood End, Birmingham.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace wrapped in the arms of all those that loved her dearly.
