The death has occurred of Packie Cooney, Corratinner, Killinkere, Virginia, Co. Cavan. Peacefully in the care of Virginia Community Health Centre and surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife, Eileen, sister Kathleen and grandson Ryan. Sadly missed by his children, Mary (Ian), Pauline (Conal), Thias, Finbar, Dolores (Staf), Jennifer (Bod), Gabrielle (Barry), grandchildren Alan, Ivan, Vincent, Alaina, Adam, Ashleigh, Chrissy, Connie, Lynda, Joe, Harry, Alice, Dylan, Molly, Max, Ellie, Ben and Mathew, great-grandchildren Sean Og and Keelan, sisters Molly, Bridie and brother Hughie, relatives and friends.

Packie’s family would also like to express their gratitude to the care givers in the Virginia Community Health Centre for their loving care and attention.

Packie will be removed to St. Ultan's Church, Killinkere this Thursday evening with arrival at 7pm. Funeral mass will be on Friday at 11am with burial afterwards in St. Ultan's Cemetery, Killinkere.

Gerry Harris

Oughterard, Galway / Clontibret, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Gerry Harris, Oughterard, Co. Galway,formerly of London and Fintully, Clontibret, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully on March 12, surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Noreen, his children Patricia, Marion and Gerard, his grandchildren Connor, Isabelle and Chelsea.

Reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home (H91 EV52), Oughterard on Thursday, the 30th of March, from 5.30pm with removal to the Church of Immaculate Conception, Oughterard at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, the 31st of March, at 11am. Burial afterwards in Kilcummin Cemetery, Oughterard.

The death has occurred of Philomena Kent (née McCartney), Drumgoan, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the tender loving care of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Wednesday, 22nd March 2023. Predeceased by her husband Alan, great granddaughter Ella-Maya, brother Tom and sisters Eileen and Theresa. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her sons Anthony (Anita), Paul, Damian (Anita), daughters-in-law Michelle and Tanya, grandchildren Shane, Lauren, Arron, Travis, Shauna, Killian and Lee, great grandson Kai-Jason, sisters May, Lily (UK), Maggie (UK), Bridie and Rosie, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross (A81 C653) on Friday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday afternoon from her residence (Drumgoan) via ‘The Bridge’ on foot to St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross arriving for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carrickmacross.

The death has occurred of Henry O'Hanlon, Ballinahone, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, H18 HN35, Wednesday 22nd March, peacefully, in the loving care of John, Dorothy, Doireann, Sean Seamus Kelly, Oakfield, Corclare.

Pre-deceased by his loving parents Michael & Annie O'Hanlon and deceased family members; Sean O'Hanlon, Ballinahone, John Kelly, Corclare, Michael & Mary O'Hanlon, USA, Máire & Vincent Mulligan, Emy, Dympna & Peader Treanor, Aughnaseeda, Monaghan and Paddy Connolly, Ballinahone.

Cherished and much-loved brother of Joan Kelly, Corclare, Alice Connolly, Ballinahone and Ursula O'Hanlon, Ballinahone Lovingly remembered with fondness by his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Henry's remains will repose at the family home in Ballinahone, H18 HN35, on Thursday from 3pm - 9pm and on Friday from 2pm until removal to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Glennan, for 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11am. Burial afterwards at The Church of the Holy Family Cemetery, Ballyoisin.
