It is with regret that we note the following death from Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Eilish Donohoe (née O'Neill)

Dublin Road and formerly Bridge St., Cavan Town, Cavan

The death has occurred of Eilish Donohoe (née O'Neill), Dublin Road and formerly Bridge St., Cavan Town, Cavan on Thursday April 6th 2023.

Eilish passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family and staff at Surgical 1, Cavan General Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Tommy Donohoe (Donohoes Garage).

Eilish was predeceased by her parents John and Anna O'Neill, Bridge St, Cavan, her sister's Jean, Nancy and Joan and her brothers Frankie and John. Eilish will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by her son Eamonn, daughter Ann Marie, sister Geraldine (Crotty), daughter in law Annemarie, son in law Gary, adored grandson Ciarán, her much loved step grandchildren, Jasmine, Lauren, Leon and Connor, especially her wonderful niece Ann Brady (New York),all her nephews, nieces , her relatives and her many, many friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12 C821) on Sunday evening from 6pm until 8pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Monday morning at 10.40am to the Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, 45 Farnham St. Cavan ( H12 FD71), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass the cortege will travel to St. Brigid's cemetery, Killygarry for committal prayers and burial in the family plot. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on the parish website here.

Frances Fanning (née Molloy)

Clonaderig, Ballinahown, Offaly / Dundalk, Louth / Ballyhaunis, Mayo / Athenry, Galway / Belturbet, Cavan

The death has occurred of Frances Fanning, peacefully, on 6th April 2023, in the dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by her loving husband John, daughters Ann and Noelle, parents Brigid and Peter, sister Kate and brothers Edward, Joe and Kieran. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Rosalie, sisters Mary Ann, Annie, Eileen and Martina, brothers Pete, Michael, Matt, John, Paddy, Tom and Paul, nieces, nephews and friends.

Reposing at her home, 102 Cloneen Drive, Ard Easmuinn, Dundalk (Eircode A91 X4W8) from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday. Removal on Sunday, proceeding on foot to the Church of the Holy Redeemer, arriving at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Castleblayney.

Jean Fee(nee Coyle)

Kilsob, Bawnboy, Co. Cavan

The death has occurred of Jean Fee(nee Coyle), Kilsob, Bawnboy, Co. Cavan on the 7th April 2023 peacefully at Breffni care nursing home, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

Beloved wife of the late Pat Fee and dearest mother to Tony, Peter, Pat, Gabriel & Roddy. She will be sadly missed by her daughters-in-law Mairead, Deirdre, Martina, Kathleen & Mary, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Colm, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Breffni Care Nursing Home, Ballyconnell on Sunday, April 9th, from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock. Removal to St. Mogue's Church, Bawnboy on Monday morning for funeral mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations-in-lieu to Breffni Care Nursing Home, Ballyconnell c/o Brian Fee undertaker, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

The death has occurred of Vytautas Aleknavicius

The death has occurred of Vytautas Aleknavicius on April 7 2023 peacefully at his home. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family.

Reposing at his home on Sunday evening from 5 o’clock to 8 o’clock. Removal leaving his home on Monday morning at 10.45am to arrive to the Sacred Heart Church, Clones for 11am funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Mount St. Oliver Cemetery, Clones.

Dr John Kenneth Graham

Monaghan town/ Innisfail, Alberta, Canada

The death has occurred of Dr John Kenneth Graham peacefully at Rosefield Centre on April 5th,2023 at the age of 90 years. Kenneth was born on September 16th, 1932, to Alexander and Annie Graham, Griggy He was raised on the family farm, outside of Monaghan town. He studied medicine at Trinity College, Dublin and later immigrated to Canada with his wife, Phyllis, in 1957. He moved to Innisfail in 1958 with Phyliss and their growing family.

Kenneth practiced medicine for forty years at Innisfail Hospital and Innisfail Associate Clinic with many friends and colleagues, retiring in 1998.He loved to farm and raise Charolais cattle. He also loved fishing, pheasant hunting, golfing, curling and walking his dogs. Dedicated to his family, patients and the Innisfail community, Ken especailly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Dr Ken Graham is lovingly remembered by his four sons, John (Audrey), Michael (Valerie), Thomas (Catherine) and Brian, his two daughters, Anne and Oonagh, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his brother Roy Graham, Innisfail and his one sister Dorothy Hawe, Athy, Co. Kildare.

He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-laws Ruth (Tynan), Isobel and Joyce (Ballyalbany), Sheila (Kilkeel,Co Down) and brother-in-law Wesley (Athy, Co. Kildare). Ken is predeceased by his wife Phyllis, and his four brothers Maurice and Sam (Ballyalbany), Bertie (Griggy) and Eddie (Tynan, Co. Armagh) and his sisters-in-law Stella (Innisfail) and Ruth (Griggy).

A funeral service will be held in Innisfail United Church on Saturday, 15th April, at 1pm.

Thomas Laverty

Tomocrow, Mullyash, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan,

The death has occurred of Thomas Laverty on Wednesday 5 April 2023, peacefully, in Silver Stream Nursing Home, Dundalk. Predeceased by his parents James and Sarah-Veronica. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brother Charlie, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Hughes’ Funeral Premises on Easter Sunday from 4 pm to 7 pm and on Easter Monday from 4 pm until removal at 6 pm traveling via Tomocrow, Mullyash arriving to St. Patrick's Church, Oram, for 7 pm. Requiem mass on Tuesday morning at 11 am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Lorraine Mullan (née Brady). Mullaghcroghery, Corduff, Carrickmacross & formerly Stonebridge, Clones. 7th April 2023. Peacefully, surrounded by her cherished family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by her father Felim, her parents-in-law Brian & Kathleen and her brother-in-law Mickey.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her heartbroken family, her husband Peter, her son Aaron and her daughters Niamh, Sophie & Katie, her mother Anne, her brother Barry and her sister Mary (McBride), her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Lorraine will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Holy Saturday, 8th April, from 2pm until 6pm.

Lorraine's funeral cortege will leave her home, Mullaghcroghery, on Easter Sunday, proceeding to St. John the Evangelist Church, Raferagh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery, Corduff.
