It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Eddie O'Reilly

Marahill, Crossdoney, Cavan / Killeshandra, Cavan

Eddie O'Reilly, Marahill, Crossdoney and late of Dromconlester, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan, Thursday, 13th July, peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Breffni Care Centre, Ballyconnell. Sadly missed by his brothers John and Tommy, his sister Margaret, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Rd., Cavan on Friday, 14th July, from 6pm to 7pm. Removal from Lakelands Funeral Home on Saturday to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Drumcor for Requiem Mass at 2pm, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd., Cavan.

Margaret Smith

Cootehill, Cavan

The death has occurred of the late Margaret Smith (Maggie) 35 Cavan Road Cootehill Co. Cavan, July 13th 2023 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Catherine, brothers Tommy, Micksy and Josie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving nephews, nieces and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home, Cootehill this Friday evening from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock. Funeral cortege leaving Mullen’s Funeral Home Saturday morning at 10:30am to arrive to St. Michael’s Church, Cootehill for 11 o’clock Funeral mass. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Family Flowers Only Please.

Dónal Deeney

Dernagrew, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Dónal Deeney, at his home, on Thursday 13th July 2023.

Cherished son of Dolores and Séamus and beloved brother of Séadh, Naoise and Josh. Dónal will be forever loved and sadly missed by his family, extended family and many friends.

Dónal's remains will be reposing at his home. Removal on Monday morning, 17th July, to arrive at St. Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan, for 11am requiem Mass.
