Another mixed week of weather on the horizon

Remaining changeable and mixed through the week ahead with temperatures slightly on the cool side for the time of year.

Sunny spells and scattered showers today. Cloud will gradually thicken this afternoon with rain pushing into the southwest this evening. Highs of 17 to 19 degrees in a moderate westerly breeze.

Becoming wet with rain spreading to most areas tonight, turning heavy in southern counties bringing a risk of spot flooding there. It'll stay mostly dry in north Ulster, though. Southerly winds will be near calm for most, but will later freshen near southern coasts. Lows of 9 to 12 degrees.

A wet start for many, tomorrow, Tuesday, with outbreaks of rain clearing eastwards during the morning, followed by showers, some heavy and possibly thundery. It will brighten up as the day goes on, however, with sunny spells developing in most parts by evening. Highs of 17 to 20 degrees, warmest in the south. Winds will be mostly light to moderate and variable in direction, but fresh and gusty southerly winds will affect the southern and southeastern coasts for a time.

Many areas dry tomorrow night with clear spells and just well scattered showers. Lows of 9 to 11 degrees with light to moderate northwest breezes.

Wednesday will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers in light to moderate northwest breezes. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees, coolest in the coastal fringes of the west and north. Long clear spells and just isolated showers on Wednesday night. Lows of 8 to 11 degrees in mainly light northwest or variable breezes.

Sunny spells and showers and showers are expected on Thursday. Light to moderate northwest or variable breezes. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, coolest in the northwest. Another largely dry night with clear spells and just isolated showers, mainly in the west and north. Light to moderate westerly breezes. Lows of 8 to 11 degrees.

Friday looks like a cloudier day overall, with scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in light to moderate west to southwest breezes, freshening in the northwest later.

Somewhat milder next weekend but with low pressure likely dominating bringing spells of rain and showers.
