It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

Richard Donnelly

Dromore West, Cootehill, Cavan / Monaghan

Richard Donnelly, Dromore West, Cootehill, Co.Monaghan, Tuesday August 29th 2023, Died Suddenly following a road traffic accident in Chaing Mai, Thailand. Predeceased by his loving father Seán Donnelly. Richard will be forever missed by his heartbroken family, his mum Kate, sister Laura, brother-in-law Ian, nephews James and John and a wide circle of friends.

Richard had a Thai Buddhist funeral followed by cremation at the Wat Sanpasak Wora Urai Temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand on Monday, 4th, and Tuesday, 5th September. It was a beautiful peaceful service officiated by our family friend Rev Peter Tarleton.

Our heartfelt thanks are extended to Peter, Oi and Richard's friends in Thailand for their kindness and support. The hospital staff in the Maharaj Nakorn Hospital and our friends and family here in Ireland who have and will continue to support us through the dark days ahead.

Shalvey Farrell, Woodside, Queens, New York & formerly of Market Street, Cootehill, Co Cavan, 4th September 2023, peacefully at his brother’s residence. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Patricia.

Deeply regretted by his brother James, sister-in-law Kim, nephews Conor & Mathew, aunts, uncles, relatives and large circle of friends.

May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Kearns Funeral Home, Woodhaven Boulevard, Rigo Park, New York on Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm. Funeral mass Saturday at 9.45 am in St Margarets Church, Middle Village, Queens with interment after in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens.

Joe Bergin

Cappaneale, Birr, Offaly / Lorrha, Tipperary / Clones, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Joe Bergin (Cappaneale, Birr, Co. Offaly & formerly of Redwood, Lorrha, Co. Tipperary & Clones, Co. Monaghan) September 6th 2023, peacefully in the loving care of Milford Hospice. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Emma & Sarah son, Stephen wife Teresa, brother Stephen & sister Maura, son in law Eoin, daughter in law Britt, grandchildren Elliot, Polly, Fred, & Fintan, sister in law Margaret, brother in law Joe, nephews, nieces, relatives & colleagues in the Met Service & many friends.

May Joe rest in peace.

Funeral arriving to St. Ruadhan's Church, Lorrha on Saturday morning at 10.45am for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by Cremation Service in Shannon Crematorium at 4pm. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Milford Hospice. House strictly private.

Julia McGee

(née Campbell)

Kennellyduff, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Julia McGee (née Campbell), Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully in the tender care of the staff at Castleross Nursing Home, Thursday, 7th September 2023. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary Kate Campbell, brothers John and Peter, sisters Kathleen, Mary, Ann, Bridget and Rosie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her brother Henry (Mary), sister Claire (Peter), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at Deery's Funeral Home, Carrickmacross on Friday afternoon, 8th September, from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning from Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross at 10am via Essexford to St. Enda’s Church, Killanny arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
