Cyclocross skids back to Castlesaunderson

Castle CX takes place Sunday, November 5.

After making its debut at the venue last year, the Ulster Cyclocross Series is set to return to Cavan's Castlesaunderson.

Round 3 of the event, which in 2022 saw riders take on a tricky tiered track filled with plenty of rolling terrain and many short ups and downs, will take place on Sunday, November 5.

Requiring competitors to mix skills between road cycling, mountain biking and steeplechase, dismounting at speed to carry their bikes up stairs and steep embankments, the venue was seen as “perfect” by the more than 300 riders and supporters who attended.

The Castle CX race is once again hosted by the Breffni Wheelers Cycling Club, with more information on both social media and www.ulstercyclocross.com.

Last year's event was held with the support of Cavan Sports Partnership, Cavan County Council, Scouting Ireland, and Coillte, and marked the first time such a unique race was held in the historic estate.
