Curtains open on Mullagh Drama Festival

Mullagh is set to have a dramatic weekend as the first ever Mullagh Drama Festival is set to take place. The festival is set to take pace between November 9 and 11 in Mullagh Hall.

Hosted by Millrace Drama Group, the three night festival will see the performance of three one act drama each night, each of whom will be competing to win the TP McKenna Cup and a place in the All Ireland Drama Festival final.

Thursday’s event will be opened by Hoodwink’s production of Bloodties, followed by Corn Mill Theatre Group’s Clarity at last. The night will close following Breifne Players play Being Norwegian.

Navan Theatre Group will open the curtain’s on Friday with their play, Dope.

This will be followed by The Last Tango in Little Grimley performed by Aisteoirí Muinchille Group, followed by Bunclody-Kilmyshall Drama Group’s drama Dead Mars Bell.

Following two impressive nights, the final day will begin with Kilmuckridge Drama Group who will perform With All My Love I Hate You.

The second performance will be a drama called Bombshell by Gunpowder Productions. The festival will come to an end with Carraig na bhfear Drama Society who will perform In The Brink Of An Eye.

The competition will be judged by adjudicator Paddy Farrelly.

Doors open at 7pm on each night with tickets for the event priced at €15 per night or €35 for a three day pass and can be bought on the door.
