It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Edward (Eddie) McMahon

Mullaghmore, Ballyconnell, Cavan / Killeshandra, Cavan

Edward (Eddie) McMahon, Bilberry Hill, Mullaghmore, Ballyconnell, Sunday 4th February 2024, peacefully in Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Susan and his brother Tom. Very deeply regretted by his brothers, Sean and Philip and sister Margaret (Shercock), brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at the residence of his brother Sean, Main Street, Killeshandra from 8pm on Monday 5th February and from 4pm - 10pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday to St. Dallan’s Church, Kildallan for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in Kildallan Cemetery.

Jim Reburn

Lisnadarra, Shercock, Cavan

Jim Reburn, Fairlawns Nursing Home, Bailieborough and formerly of Lisnadarra, Shercock. Co. Cavan., February 5th 2024 peacefully at Fairlawns Nursing Home. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Rountree), dear father of Betty (West), son in law, Attie, granddaughter Anita, cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral service in Shercock Parish Church on Wednesday 7th at 2pm, followed by burial in adjoining Churchyard. House private at all times please.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the wonderful staff of Fairlawns Nursing Home for their exceptional care of Jim over the years.

John Patrick Clarke

Cordevlis, Castleshane, Monaghan, H18K262 / Kiltimagh, Mayo

and formerly Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo, peacefully and unexpectedly at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his wife Loretta (née McHugh, Frosses, Co. Donegal).

Sadly missed by his daughters Mary (Eric), Olive, Patricia (Joe), Emer (Tomás) and Eileen (Tom), his son John (Deirdre), grandchildren Aoibh, Cara, Lúí, Énrí, Sophie, Jake, Cillian, Eibhlin and Ellen, brothers Colm and Seamus, sister Mary (Finnegan), brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home on Wednesday (07/02/2024) from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.

House private at other times please.

Removal from his home on Thursday (08/02/2024) at 10.15 a.m., arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Latlurcan.

Family flowers only please.

Killyboley, Glaslough, Monaghan, H18RT44

Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen, sisters Gretta, Eleanor and Theresa and his brother Eddie. Sadly missed by his daughters Eleanor (Gerald Mullen), Marie, Christina (Francis McCormack), his sons Anthony (Rosemarie), Hugh (Archley Prudent), Noel (Carolyne) and Thomas (Laura), grandchildren Martin, Helena, Thomas, Susan, Sarah, Áine, Pauric, Zoe, Téagan and Mia, great grandchildren, sisters Dolores (McKenna), Maureen, Rose and Josie, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the residence of his son Anthony (H18RT44) on Wednesday (07/02/2024) from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Thursday (08/02/2024) from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. House private at all other times please. Removal on Friday (08/02/2024) at 10.15 a.m., arriving at St. Mary's Church, Glennan (H18YT20) for funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial afterwards in Drumbanagher Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
