Saturday sport: Kilkenny hold on to fight off Cork comeback

Gaelic games

Kilkenny bested Cork in a ding dong battle in the Allianz National Hurling league this evening.

John Donnelly's injury time point proved enough as the Cats outlasted the Rebels by 0-21 to 1-17 at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Elsewhere, Wexford and Offaly couldn't be separated as they played out a 0-20 to 1-17 draw at Wexford Park.

The hosts ended the game with 13 players and had a chance to win it but Simon Donohoe missed with the final puck of the game.

Premier League

Liverpool resumed their position at the top of the Premier League with a hard fought 3-1 victory over Burnley.

Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez scored for the hosts at Anfield.

The Merseysiders were without first choice keeper Alison because of illness, while Trent Alexander-Arnold came off at half time with an injury.

Erling Haaland got both goals for Manchester City in their 2-0 win at home to Everton. They're two points adrift of the leaders in second.

Brennan Johnson's scored a 96th minute winner for Tottenham as they came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1. Bottom side Sheffield United got just their third victory of the season as they got the better of fellow strugglers Luton 3-1.

Brentford's 2-0 success at Wolves has moved them six points clear of the relegation zone. Rodrigo Muniz got a brace for Fulham in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

Newcastle have travelled to Nottingham Forest in the late game.

The Magpies lead 1-0 with Bruno Guimaraes

Six Nations

Scotland were denied a dramatic Six Nations win over France with a TMO review for a try going against them in the last minute.

The decision not to award the score meant the French triumphed 20-16. Ben White got Scotland's only try at Murrayfield.

Gregor Townsend's side have won one and lost one in the tournament so far. The meeting of England and Wales is into the second-half at Twickenham

Wales lead by 14-5 so far.
