‘Supporting, Empowering and Inspiring’ business women

Over 500 women across 26 different business sectors have engaged with the Cavan Women in Business Network since its inception over a decade ago, with new members always welcomed.

The network provides a platform that encourages and promotes entrepreneurship for women in the county. It was established under the auspices of the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan in May 2013 due to the fact that there was no tradition of a women’s network in the area. Neither was there a formal network for local women in business.

This professional business women’s network has proven very successful over the 10 plus years since it launched. Over that time members of the Cavan Women in Business Network heard from over 200 inspirational speakers at 70 events.

According to Tara Humphreys, business advisor, LEO Cavan, the objective of the Cavan Women in Business Network is to support, empower and inspire the members.

“This is done by raising the profile of female-led businesses in the county; affording them the opportunity to showcase their businesses; and giving them a platform to grow their network of women in business in the area. Local Enterprise Office Cavan is very proud of the success of Cavan Women in Business Network since its launch over a decade ago,” she told the Celt.

Local businesswoman, Margaret McKeon-Boyle of Extensive PR, has co-ordinated the Cavan Women in Business Network since its launch nearly 11 years ago on behalf of LEO Cavan.

Over 50 women in business in the county have joined Cavan Women in Business Network in 2024 alone.
